Runs small! Check the size chart

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Size Bought:
Large
Weight:
195

I usually buy Medium in normal shirts. Even for under-layers shirts which tend to be skin tight a medium usually works. I'm 6' tall, 195 pounds and about 17% body fat (not lean, but not fat). I read the size chart and measured, which led me to buy a Large. It "fits" in that it is completely skin tight like pulling on a wet suite. Given that I measured and this one was correct, I'd say this runs small even if you measured and sized up accordingly. It's like a maybe-a-bit-too-revealing speedo for your belly. If you aren't a hunk of a V-shaped torso surfer (which I don't claim to be), check out the relaxed fit version of this same shirt. My big-for-his-age 9 year old son definitely would not look good in this shirt. A small of the relaxed fit is perfect for him; not too tight, not too loose. https://www.backcountry.com/o-neill-basic-skins-rash-t-shirt-long-sleeve-mens This shirt tapers significantly narrower at the waist, which highlights my dad-bod midsection with a shrink wrap effect of this shirt. The waist is probably the most important measure on the size chart due to this. I'm going to stick with this shirt since I think (maybe wishfully) that it looks decent. Maybe I'll lose the weight with all the swimming I'll do. If you're modest or have a more straight torso, go with the relaxed fit. It will look good and you'll have yourself an actual "shirt" for swimming rather than a second skin that has better sun protection. Overall, I like it, but know what you are buying. Don't buy this thinking it will make you look like the shirt model above if you aren't already mostly that shape.
