I've owned my loon 100 a little over 2 years, my wife got her's shortly thereafter. they're outstanding on nearby lakes and slow moving rivers. cockpit allows easy in/out. 10' is just right for the river thing. also, we find them very comfortable on all- day trips. you can spend a lot more, but you'd not be as happy as we are with a loon 100.

I like this boat because it's really easy to turn around on a dime. It's suuuuper stable (it's really wide). The seat is really comfortable and there is plenty of room in the cockpit. It doesn't track that great if you're trying to tour for a long time but it does good in moving water and stuff like that. I thought it was kind of weird that the cockpit on it was sooo big. That kind of defeats the purpose of having a sit in kayak, doesn't it? But just throw on a spray skirt and you will be fine! And actually if you had a small dog you could throw them in there in front of you.
