Fits in the truck

Just bought a second one for my wife. We can fit both in the back of our full size truck no problem, along with our son's sit on top. For all the people having tracking issues it seems to be balanced to need some weight in the rear compartment. A water bottle and my small daypack shoved to the far back does it for me, and suddenly the tracking is awesome. Although without the weight it does tend to plow in and pull you left or right. The rear storage compartment is just designed to be used and the kayak is balanced accordingly imo. The boat itself is super durable and solid feeling.

Great Boat!

I have owned this kayak for a couple of years and absolutely love it. In other reviews some folks have complained of poor tracking, but that has not been my experience at all. For a short, smooth hulled boat such as the Heron, it tracks wonderfully. It is incredibly rugged, easy to paddle, has plenty of storage, easy to fit in the back of a truck, and very well made. It is an incredible value for the money, and it is great for almost any circumstance. Plus it's just a fun, good looking boat! I love it!

Terrible tracking.

Bought this last week, took it out three times on small county lake. Mild to no winds, boat does not glide through the water, must put in a lot of effort to keeping going and tracks significantlyto the left. Almost felt like was going in circles. Friend has a Perception Swifty, we traded and both concur, Heron 9 xt had to keep straight and not smooth. Highly recommend the Perception Swifty. Really flies through the water. Very disappointed in my Heron xt 9 purchase. Will probably take back.
