If you don't feel like tackling whitewater or a week-long tour, then try out the Old Town Dirigo 106 Kayak for a boat that can handle a day trip or casual paddle. The Ergonomic Extrasport XtraComfort Seat with on-deck adjustment keeps you comfortable as you get a feel for this recreational boat. Old Town gave the Dirigo 106 Kayak a dashboard with a wallet/cell phone dry hatch so you can stay in touch while you're out on the water. A Space Hatch holds your lunch and extra layers while the deck bungee secures your bilge pump or compass.

Bottom Line: Get out on the water for a relaxing day of paddling with the Old Town Dirigo 106 Kayak.

This will be the first kayak i have owned but i have gone out a few times. I was wondering if this kayak would be good for ocean, lake, and rivers and 1-2 day long trips? If not i would greatly appreciate any suggestions on kayaks.

Ocean, not so much- you might get tossed around a bit, plus your going to need a skirt. This bad boy is a 10 footer. It will be great for the lake and streams. Has a nice keep dry storage area behind your seat, plus all the bungee's you need- some other yaks' you have to pay for those little things. So for your trips- an awesome choice until you want to go faster. But maybe you will get used to this one, and not need the speed. All around good choice!! And it's on-sale

I love my kayak. I bought it so I could load and unload it myself. It was listed as weight less than 50lbs. Its more than 50lbs, but it is possible for me to handle by myself at 5' 110lbs.The seat is top of the line in comfort, with adjustable tension on backrest. It paddles well and stays on course with not too much effort for a shorter kayak. Backcountry did a awesome job delivering it with no problems.

I was wondering if my 15 lb shipoo dog will fit in with me. I am a beginner and just want to go into lagoons near my house to watch birds and animals. Is it easy to carry. With it fit in my sunfire hatch back car?

Your dog will probably fit in your lap, so yes to that. It weighs 41 pounds (the same as a 5-gallon jug of water), so it's not especially easy to carry. And it absolutely will not fit in the back of your Pontiac Sunfire. It's ten and a half feet long, so it's safe to say that there is no normal consumer car it will fit into. If you want to drive with it, you're going to need a rack. Or just strap it down.

I live in Florida and the kayak would be used mainly in lakes and possibly some salt water marsh. I am 6'2" tall and weight around 245 Lbs. If I went out over night it would be only for one night. Are there any other things I should consider.
