Surf's up. Grab your Ocean Kayak Yak Board and make the most of it.
Surf kayakers have long seen the beauty of the Ocean Kayak Yak Board Sit-On-Top Kayak. Wide and incredibly stable, this sit-on-top has a playful feel and a smooth ride quality. The deck is self-bailing, the cockpit is nice and wide, and the molded foot wells do well to accommodate a range of leg lengths. Kids will feel right at home and confident on this boat, while adults will see plenty of opportunity to get out into the waves and have some fun of their own.
- High-volume bow resists diving in surf or rough seas while the integrated keel tracking locks into calmer waters to keep this boat tracking straight
- Seat well, cup holder, carry handles, and foot wells are all molded into the deck of the boat
- Gear strap keeps a dry bag or an extra PFD securely attached to the deck
- Drain plug uses a threaded design to keep water out while making it easy to drain water when you need to

Ocean (Surf) Kayaking in Florida
Great stability and control for surfing in waves.
I cant decide between a sit on top kayak...
I cant decide between a sit on top kayak or a sit in. I would be using it mostly on a very large lake.Do you have any advice?
Kathryn, these boats are the best! I used to have a small white water boat but got into these Yak Boards for half day outtings on rivers and large lakes. I would recommend them to you as they feel safe and are comfortable. The only thing I can say for a large lake is that you may want to go with a larger boat than the Yak Board. The Yak is fun for playing around and lazy paddling. I noticed that when paddling long distances there is a lot of resistance and the boat veers from left to right as novice people paddle. A longer boat will cut through the water better for you on a large lake.
I've had one Yak Board for 8 years now and love it. Just picked a 2nd one up from BC in Feb for my friends to use. Good. Inexpensive. Fun.

I've had a Yak Board for 4-5 years now and love it. I use in in the ocean and in calmer rivers. Construction is very durable as I've gone over many rocks. Just bought another one to match my older one so that my friends can join me. Hell of a lot less than buying a motorboat. Plus, you can always tow it behind a boat....see photo haha
