Description

A dream come true for open-water kayak fishing.

Ocean Kayak designed the Trident 15 Angler Sit-On-Top Kayak, the longest of its Trident series boats, based on the feedback of a fleet of professional kayak fishermen. You get the open-water efficiency of a sea kayak, the comfort and stability of a touring boat, and the maneuverability and outfitting of a dedicated fishing boat. Move swiftly and silently across the water, hit your fishing hole with all your gear close at hand and, with a little bit of luck, land that prize-winning catch.

  • Angler edition includes rod holders, a modular center console, an oversized rear tankwell, a transducer-compatible scupper, and battery bag (for transducer battery)
  • Polyethylene hull is incredibly strong and durable so it resists damage from rocks and other underwater hazards
  • Hull slips through the water quietly and efficiently and provides plenty of lateral stability so you can cast aggressively if necessary
  • Comfort Tech seat back has added padding, four-way adjustability, a ventilated back panel, and a higher back rest for increased lumbar support
  • Foot braces are adjustable to accommodate different leg lengths
  • Bow hatch keeps your lunch, layers, or other essential gear protected from the water, and the Cross Lock buckle system keeps the hatch cover securely in place
  • Oversized stern tankwell holds extra gear, and the bungee cord keeps your gear from blowing away
  • Modular center console features additional mounting options for fishing rods, a sport tray for lures, and a built-in ruler for measuring fish
  • Dual flush-mounted rod holders and a set of paddle keepers keep your essential gear attached to your boat so you won't lose anything while you're fishing
  • Transducer-compatible scupper hole provides extra-wide opening to accept a transducer and necessary cables
  • Other features include reflective deck rigging, a protective hull skid-plate, and side-mounted carry handles

Hey,

No, a rudder is not necessary. Needing a rudder or not comes down to several things. But most importantly I would say anyone who paddles on open water exposed to wind and waves, will most likely want one.
