Why We Like The Bridger Low B-Dry Hiking Shoe

Overgrown trails below treeline followed by knife-edge ridgeline scrambles en route to the summit are what pull us towards the mountains, so it only makes sense to wear shoes as adept at mountain travel as the Oboz Men's Bridger Low B-Dry Hiking Shoe. Conceived in the mountains of Montana, the Bridger is designed for the kind of hikes where trail traffic is minimal and the obvious path often ends before we reach our destination. The boot is equipped with a waterproof, breathable membrane to repel moisture from rain, puddles, and creek crossings, while a sturdy combination of nubuck leather and textile make the boots durable enough to withstand heavy and repeated use in the mountains. Oboz sandwiched the boot's TPU chassis between an aggressive rubber sole and cushioned EVA midsole, then added a nylon shank for added stability when traversing sloping trails and ascending steep scree.

GREAT service with an even greater delivery time. The best low quarter boot I’ve had with a very firm insole.

The plastic edging bottom and the front plastic/rubber toe material and the leather upper started separating soon after I started wearing them. I glued them and glued them but to no avail. I should have returned them but...didn't for one reason or another...thought I could fix them. And shortly after a year...separation is worse and the shoe is toast. This happened even though I didn't hike in them that much...used mostly for outdoor work. I bought top of the line because I thought they would last longer...also B-Dry. They are good in the wet!

If you have foot issues, this is for you

I have had major foot surgery on both feet which makes picking a hiking shoe very difficult. Today's boots are being designed to be less weight, lighter fabric etc. which usually leads to overall less support for your feet. The Oboz Bridger offers tremendous support for your feet. It is a stiffer shank yet very comfortable. The only con that I have is the tread is great except on slippery rocks. The shoe does not excel in this area. However, if great foot support is your primary concern, don't look any further, this is your hiking shoe. I always order a 1/2 size up to accommodate my custom orthotics. The Oboz insole is also one of the best for foot issues, but I require a bit more support.

These are relatively good hikers. I’ve gone thru 2 pair and I like them. Mostly because they fit. I usually wear a 10 and that’s what I’ve gotten. They wear out faster than I’d like and things like the rubber bumpers delaminate but as long as they fit and have decent wearing capabilities that’s what is important. I’ve bought other oboz and they don’t fit me, for whatever reason, so I’m sorta committed to these. I would much rather buy them at a cheaper price and have the company leave out the highly vaunted insoles as I will get better ones right away anyway. As you can see the uppers are in much better shape than the soles. They grip well, so maybe that’s the trade off.
