When you think of sunglasses being made, you probably don’t think of guys in white lab coats with clouds of white hair making beakers explode. But actually, Oakley bonds its polarized glare-protection to the lenses of the Splinter Polarized Sunglasses at a molecular level (instead of slapping a film between the lenses as some companies do). Which means those lab-coat guys are the real deal, and the clarity of your lenses is pretty damn sweet. Besides that, Oakley gave these lightweight, durable frames a sport-like curve to maximize your peripheral vision.

Bottom Line: There’s some definite chemistry in these babies.

first things first, the lenses are very nice. glass polarized gives them a higher level of quality than others at this price. the frames are sturdy and hinges havent given me a problem after over a year of constant use. on the bad side, they are quite heavy but not uncomfortable but i can imagine someone is not used to wearing glasses occationally its going to be cumbersome. secondly hhe frame shape is comfortable but i think someing that would hold them a little firmer around the back of the ears would be helpful considering the weight. i have had these slip of my face particularly on hot humid swass kinda days and when im bending over the edge of the boat more snug than not would be comforting. but overall theyre alright. ive got a square large face and they do fit well on my face but for anyone else theyre really large definately for men with large faces. the nose pads are quite nice, they feel just like my Rx frames. i would recommend them for anyone looking for a decent pair of polarized lenses thats not going to mind rocking a pair of oakleys.

Great Glasses

I am a big Oakley fan, and these basically replaced the old square wires. These have springe hinges, which are not common in Oakleys, but they work well on these. They are light and the optics are great with a stylish look. If you like the wire line of glasses you will most likely love these as well.
