***MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE***
Okay, I've have a unique perspective on these boots. Not only do I wears these, I also work with many people that do wear these too. I am military personnel who works in a special unit (thats all i can say). Many of our folks use these boots and say they are very comfortable. HOWEVER, in real world operations, these suckers can slip on wet metal/steel. This is key when many of our operations occur on big sheets of metal (get the hint?). I have authored a medical board for someone who slipped and exacerbated their herniated disk and claims they were wearing this boot when it occurred (I have no proof and I am not saying the shoes caused the slip or the eventual medical board)
My unit is no longer ordering these boots, we have since moved on to the Rocky S2V boots and, to me, they feel more sturdy on wet surface. ie, there is no longer a confidence issue when it rains

I purchased these boots about a month ago now. I had heard from others at work that they were great boots. Having been in law enforcement for over 21 years, I have owned a few pairs of boots. While it is a little early, I would say that I have been very happy with them so far. They are extremely comfortable and they look very professional. I have not experienced the noises or slipping problems that other people have reported in their reviews. I found that backcountry also had the best price. If you are thinking of buying this product, I think that you would be happy with them.

This are the best footwear on the planet. These boots are very durable and incredibly comfortable. Not to mention they look awesome too. I just purchased my second pair from Back Country after a year of wearing my first pair (still in somewhat okay condition). If the Navy SEALs and Force Recon Marines wear them, you know they are good.
pretty cool boot

Hey!
I see in the size chart, there is no "Wide" or "Regular" in width. I want to order a boot in wide width, how do I do that?

I am sorry these boots are not available in a wide width. Thanks

I want to get a pair of 6" boots for construction workboots. Can anyone compare these with Oakley's Tactical Six's for this purpose?

Love these boots since they first came out years ago. I wear these in the winter rather than shoes or snow boots for daily life. Part of my travel kit when heading to AK. Have hiked in the snow in them many times and they work pretty well with that. After some use doing that, found I needed to re-waterproof them. The support and overall feel is perfect. The pair I'm currently using have lasted for 3 years. Best foot wear Oakley ever made. Overall style is timeless and has that military look, light weight which is key.

Interesting that the 6" black version of this boot is not offered with the breathable cordura like both the 8" black boot and the 6" desert color boot.
Too bad, because I'd like the 6" black boot but all-leather seems like it would be a bit hot for my taste.
good all-around daily boot

i have had this boot for about a year. for me, it is well constructed, supportive and extremely comfortable. it litterally feels like my Nike running shoes. it has an aggressive tread pattern, and does great on any surface i have walked on, and i have not noticed the wet/slippery issue that others have noted. i have used this boot for casual camping, around town, outdoorsy stuff, and everything but hiking, and it has performed well, especially at keeping my feet very warm in the snow on ski trips. i normally wear a Nike size 11, and an 11 in this boot is perfect.

I have a pair of these boots and they rock so hard! The boot feels like a running shoe and the sole is not to hard like regular issue boots, plus having the shorter boot is more comfortable..to me anyway.. One gripe abot them is the fact if you get in mud, they get a little slick, but easy to clean off of the sole and boot.

are they true to size or are they smaller or longer?

They tend to run a little bigger for the SI Boots. I wear an 11.5 in most shoes but a 12 fits perfectly in the SI Boot.

i guess they're a little bit more longer in terms of its size.. my feet always fits size 10 of U.S standard size shoe like of nike, adidas and other brands of shoes that i have, but the one i bought from oakley which is the s.i assault boots was almost an inc longer than usual size 10 shoes that i have..

These are my favorite boots. I own 5 pairs. They are extremely comfortable. You can definitely run in these if needed and your feet will thank you for choosing these. The ones sold here are civilian issue (Made in China), but very close to the military issue (Made in the USA). On dry surfaces, these boots are top notch. On Wet/Icey surfaces, you may slip.. Oh yeah, they squeak a lot if you just stepped on some water and let's say for example walked into a place with waxed floors, be ready to hear "creeeek creeeek creeeeek". That is my major gripe with these boots.
Bottom line though,
Worth the money, true to sneaker sizes. Love these boots.

This was my second pair of these Oakley boots. These boots are the best I have ever worn, anywhere. The traction and comfort is way above par. I always joke that they are more comfortable than my slippers, but that is not far from the truth. I only have one problem with the boots. The leather on my 8" tan pair started to get holes in the leather on the sides (by the balls of the feet) after about 6 months. I hope the new 6" black pair have a little more longevity.
Very slippery & noisy

Bought them for my work in the desert, my bud in the Army recommended them. But once I hit the wet surface, they slip and make squeaky noise....Eh, doesn't the army guys have to be stealthy and not making noise? Anyways, the ankle support and fit are great right out of the box. I just wish they will fix the sole design. I won't use them for hiking or scrambling, just suicidal.
excellent

these boots are really comfortable, the only thing I would change is the way they fit , they are kind of difficult getting on , I would make the tongue a little looser at the top , other than that they are well worth the bucks
