Panel Vest - Men's

The Oakley Panel Vest ensures that your walk to the toddy bar is as warm as the spirited return trip through the snow. This sleeveless, baffled layer of Thinsulate helps retain your upper body’s heat before you can fill your belly with warm whiskey, and hand pockets and a zippered turtle-neck collar shelter your more sensitive parts while you trek through the slushy streets.

  • The tough, nylon ripstop outer shell features a water-resistant coating to prevent snow showers from soaking you and robbing all of your warmth
  • Interior media pocket holds a cell phone or MP3 player where it won’t freeze

Bottom Line: A layer of insulation built for cold walks and storm day layering.

a synthetic vest

This isn't a down vest. Right when I got it I realized it was too heavy to be a down vest and when I read the tag nowhere did it say it was filled with down but rather with synthetic material.
I am 5'9 160lb and got the medium. it fits a little bulky around the belly, it isn’t an athletic cut. the arm holes are tight. I think it might be uncomfortable to wear this over anything other than a thin under layer.

Not what I expected

First off, this is not a down vest. The product I received has Thinsulate's Light Loft insulation, not down. The zipper is also backwards, like it's a Womens' zipper. The tag clearly says Men's though.
Other than that, the vest looks exactly like it does in the picture. The fit is good, the stitching looks good, and the style is good. It's just not what I expected.

Ideal Spring Layer

I've been wearing this over a hoodie while skiing this spring, stylish and comfortable. Zippers snag pretty easily which is a nuisance, but other then that very satisfied with this vest. I'm 5 11 and got the XXL for a baggy fit. I also got the XL which is pretty identical in length, but it is much narrower through the body.
