Oakley honors freeskiing icon and New Canadian Air Force pilot J.P. Auclair with his very own Signature Crowbar Goggle. Back in the 1990’s, the N.C.A.F. fired the first shots in the freeski invasion, and J.P. flew many sorties through enemy terrain parks, taking out hardened perceptions of skiing’s limitations with every pass. Now that the war is over, he spends his time touring the globe, telling tales of the revolution and acting as an ambassador to nations with little freeski exposure. Currently he is focusing on Japan, and his Crowbar design reflects his location with a superimposed map of the Tokyo subway system on the frame. Everything else about the award-winning Crowbar remains the same, from the XYZ Optics and anti-fog coating, to Oakley’s super-deluxe triple-layer fleece face foam.
Bottom Line: Honor those who fought for your freeskidom.
These goggles are great. I bought the fire lenses and it's cool because people can't see your eyes. The lenses and strap look killer. I get lots of compliments on the hill.
The only way to know is to try them on. if you can't find them in a store, you can buy them and if they don't fit you can return them. I have a small head and the crowbars fit me great. I dont know what my face size is, though - there is no standard for measuring face size, as far as I know -One of my helmets is a RED Trace 0.5 (youth) large and another is a Carerra adult small. They fit me well with my Trace, but I haven't tried them with the Carerra yet.
I do not own this colorway of this goggle, but I do own many pairs of oakley crowbars. And my sister has this frame color, so I have seen it often in real life. This goggle is hands down one of the best goggles made. Its optics are incredibly clear, better than any other lens on the market. The lens is also really impact resistant. I like how much visibility these goggles give you in most directions, and I like how they will fit most peoples faces well. Don't buy a cheap goggle, buy the crowbar!

whats up neighboor!!!!! :-)...i am a huge huge fan of fire lenses because of thier looks, but for performance; i hate to say it but its not the best for our crappy overcast and changing conditions...if your looking at this goggle then the persimmon will be the best, for any other oakley gogs i reccomend h.i. persimmon for washington weather specifically, i have that and it works brilliantly in everything but bright sun
Oakley JP Auclair Signature Crowbar Goggles paired with Giro G10.
This was taken 02/27/10 at Snow Summit in Big Bear. It was a sweeeetttttttt night session with little to nobody on the the slopes. It was snowing throughout the night too!
I need help choosing a lens for the Crowbar, not necessarily the Auclair version. Which lens is best if you are only going to have one pair or the best all-around lens?
I would go with the HI Persimmon or the HI Yellow. They are pretty similar lenses. The Persimmon will do a little better on bright days while the Yellow will hander overcast/flat light days better. I feel like its easier to deal with brightness than flat light, so I would probably go with the HI yellow, but its up to you.
got them and love them i got the fire lens but one thing was ski park city and somehow got a scratch on them i can barley see it but am going to by replacement amazing goggle awesome graphic
They are not a good all around lens, since they block more light than almost any other lens tint option. If you want a specialized lens for bluebird days and that killer fire lens look, then it might be worth it, but realized that it is almost limited to very sunny days.
The fire lenses block a little more light, making the bright sunny days a little easier on your eyes. The persimmon lens is more of an all around lens. It's made for more overcast days, but still isn't to straining on your eyes on the bright sunny days. The fire lenses are also reflective looking from the outside if this is something you like or want. So if your eyes are more sensitive to light, then they're worth the money, but in my case, I prefer the persimmon lens in more conditions than the fire lens.
very comfortable, sick design, and works well with helmet which was one of my main concerns. Great peripheral vision and none of the lens fog. not for smaller sized faces though.
The Oakley JP Signature Crowbar is the first pair of Oakley goggles I have purchased. I have been a Scott devotee for years, but think I have new allegiance. This goggle has been fantastic in all categories for me. I have the fire iridium and have tested it in Wasatch conditions ranging from bright sun, low light, snowing/low light and this tint has been great for me. Equally as good, if not better than my Scott Chrome Amplifier lens that I have been running for years. Granted high intensity yellow is going to be the best in flat light, but I don't like interupting my ski day to change lenses. Fit is outstanding, no fogging issues, and I love the expanded peripheral vision the Crowbar yields. To top it off the style of this frame stands alone.
Oakley's crowbar series has always been dope, but this signature model took form and function to the next level, and here's why:
1. Big lens = unrestricted field of vision 2. Interchangeable lens system = you can see where you're going in all conditions 3. Graphic = probably the coolest out of any goggle on the market
I do not own this colorway of this goggle, but I do own many pairs of oakley crowbars. And my sister has this frame color, so I have seen it often in more...
