It's always a good time for Hijinx.

The large, sleek Oakley Hijinx sunglasses feature fashion forward frames and performance High Definition optics that won't let you down if you're shopping in Malibu, or scoping surf in Maui. These impact resistant O matter frames fit medium to large face sizes. Oakley's tapered XYZ lens technology gives you distortion-free vision at all angles of vision—even at the periphery of the lens. These Oakley shades feature darker lens tints that excel in bright light conditions like water sports, skiing, or driving. Sqaure O metal icons add a distinctly Oakley touch of style.

Didn't like these at all. TOO BIG.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large

I have an average size head (7 1/2) and these are just way too big, they look ridiculous. Kind of like Elton John circa 1974 ridiculous. I see this as a growing trend in sunglasses especially with Oakley. Beyond that the tint was too light for my taste.

I love the hijinx

I love these sunglasses. I have multiple pairs. they are really nice sized and fit my big head. I'd say if you want high quality sunglasses that are really durable these are the best bet

It seems most glasses are to big for my liking, i.e. the Anon's Indee and Von Zipper Clutch glasses. However, the Anarchy Bedlam glasses fit perfect. So, which do you think these Oaks resemble the closest sizewise. Also, I've noticed the size listed in the right column is contravertial a times with what other people have commented on. Thanks for your help.

These are medium in volume, fit most people and are super comfortable.

Lens 61mm W x 40mm H

After loosing my Gas Cans I tried these out. They fit good but the lens are alot closer to my face than my old Gas Cans, took a little getting used to. I got the Matte Black ones and I love the look but liked the fit of the Gas Cans Better.

Oakley Hijinx

These are the most comfortable sunglasses I've ever worn. I've tried other Oakley's but always come back to these. You hardly notice there even on because they fit so well.

Fogged up for me

Looked good, fit well, but unwearable for me because of fogging on the inside of the lens. Perhaps it's my chunky high cheeks that caused this, but this has never been a problem for me with any other sunglasses.

Changed my opinion on Oakley

Not an Oakley fan. Styling and marketing always seemed a little obnoxious to me. I bought these at an airport becuase I was on the road and forgot my shades. Usually wear Smith, but I gotta say I'm digging these Hijinx. Great lenses, highly scratch resistant, Sturdy hinges and look cool too. I do not take care of my shades and these are showing litle to no signs of wear after 6 months.

How big are the lenses? i keep hearing they are meant for people with big heads. i hope i made the right choice in ordering these.

Nah, not really. I would classify my head as mediumish and I've been wearing them all winter. Don't get them if you wear a small helmet/hat. You'd look funny.

is buying a polarized lens woth the extra cash? what do you get for it?

Best Answer Responded on

You get a polarized lens. Polarized lenses work by not letting light through that is oscillating in a horizontal direction, which is all very complicated but means that it eliminates reflective glare. If you're walking on snow a lot (glaciers) or around water (fishing, surfing, kayaking), then they're fantastic. For everyday life, doesn't make any difference.

A solid sunglass

The Oakley Hijinx Sunglasses felt a little weird at first as the arms rest towards the back of my head. Once I got used to this sensation these were great. I usually wear Smith and feel that Smith's lenses are more scratch resistant but I really like the Oakley Hijinx. They offer great coverage and I would say these will fit larger face sizes better.

Yes, almost every sunglass does, even the $7 ones at your gas station on the corner down the street.
