You don’t want a ski jacket with neon-bright, eye-dizzing designs, but you’d rather not have a butt-boring ski outfit either. Go for the Oakley Women’s Helena Jacket.

  • 15K-Rated waterproof fabric and fully taped seams fight wetness
  • Screen prints on the hood and down one sleeve add design without going overboard
  • Thinsulate insulation and fleece boost warmth
  • Removable hood reduces bulk on dry days
  • Powder skirt blocks snow and removes for trips downtown
  • Wrist gaiters bridges gap between sleeve cuffs and gloves
  • Loose fit for park riding

Bottom Line: Just right.

Does the jacket have those hand sleeves? and the blue colour, does it come with that funky design pattern or is it regular like the picture?!

Fits like a dream

I haven't skied in it yet ... but from trying it on and testing out all of the features I am super excited.

The hood is nice and big but adjusts to fit snugly and will do a great job of keeping out wind and snow. There are some nifty features on the hood; Oakley has made good use of magnets!

I'm stoked to see how I like the Thinsulate fleece on the inside of this coat. In a few strategic locations there are patches of fleece, it doesn't line the entire coat. Weight-saving and warm-keeping, but not over-heating, I'm-thinking.

Wrist gaiters are a MUST in my opinion and this coat has 'em!

It has the option to install a zip-in liner. Cool for you, hot for me. I won't need it. This coat is of the perfect weight and I will be able to effectively layer to keep myself regulated.

I'm 5'5 130 lbs and I usually ski 100+ days per season. I work at a resort and I ride in all kinds of weather. I know what makes a good coat. I have long arms and legs. This coat fits me perfectly. I bought a Medium. It covers my rear-end and all the way just past my wrists, just the way I like it.

Do yourself a favor and invest in this coat :)

Is this jacket just a shell or would it be warm enough to ski in without another jacket under it. Also, does it really have no interior pockets?

The jacket also lets you zip-in an inside layer, like a fleece, for colder days.

The jacket does have insulation. It isn't just a shell. However the insulation probably wouldn't be enough to keep you warm when it gets down to below freezing temps. It's hard to tell though, some people just get colder than others. But you could obviously throw on a sweatshirt underneath and probably be fine, due to the 15k waterproof rating that this jacket has, you don't have to worry about getting wet. And it is also a loose fit, so there would be plenty of room for another jacket or sweatshirt underneath.
And I am certain that it does have at least one interior pocket. Large enough for a pair of glasses, or a mens wallet, or mp3 player. I don't know why they only talk about the exterior pockets in the description, but wouldn't be surprised if there were a few more interior pockets. I have two oakley jackets and my girlfriend has one as well, and they all have 2 or 3 interior pockets, so I don't see why this one would be any different. You could always send it back for a full refund, no questions asked, if for some reason you got it and didn't like it.

Can't wait for the Mt to open to try it out!

I ordered this jacket in both a L and XL just to make sure I got the right fit. I'm 5'5 and size ten and the L fit me great except for the arms which are super long. I don't think it will be a problem though. It is baggy enough I can put layers under it not sure how warm it is yet. More then long enough so I can definitely bend down without my back showing. There is an inside pocket that can hold an mp3 player and camera without a problem. Really cute. I had my boyfriend try on the XL he is 6'5 and stick thin but lengthwise fit him.
