Description
It'll keep you running.
The Oakley Gas Can sunglasses are built to stare down the competition. Tough, lightweight O Matter frames will take the abuse of rough days without flinching. Optically correct XYZ lenses ensure you'll stay focused on your opponents, thanks to perfectly clear peripheral vision that means nothing will catch you off-guard. The Gas Can exceeds ANSI standards for impact resistance, and the Plutonite lenses block all the harmful UV rays that could slow you down.

Great sunglasses and pretty durable as well. These have been some of my favorite shades and they can take a little abuse. Overall they have been amazing and the fit is perfect.

Well the gas cans looks alright and the optics are pretty dang tight. Love the hinges also. I think they sit a little high on the face and are best with those with larger cheek bones. These really don't fit tight my face and this is made even worse by the lack of temple grips. Really they fall off all the time. They are good shades to kick back and have a beer but you will need another pair of shades for doing anything active. Unless you have a large head I wouldn't even recommend fishing in these for fear of them dropping in the water, but boating, cycling, jogging, and any sport are pretty much out the question. There is a reason some of friends have lost a set of gascans.

Had these for about 4 years now, and they are still truckin'! Have a few scratches on the lenses, and the frames are kinda beat up but thats what makes them so great. They can take a lickin' and keep on tickin'! Great pair of sunglasses for anything from looking good to playing beach volleyball to fishing.
Get your gascans here they are realy reliable.

I spent the last 5 months behind these shades fighting wildfire in Canada. I've got a fairly small face and they fit me well. I found the Black Iridium lenses to be great in nearly all light conditions, super sunny to overcast. Most importantly for me, they offer great eye protection and they are ANSI impact protection approved which means I can wear them on the fireline instead of lame safety glasses. The lenses are a bit scratched now, but, I feel like I got my $'s worth out of them, and I'm admittedly a bit hard on things. Frames still function great despite being stepped on, dropped, etc....

Product Review Oakley Gascan Sunglasses
By Soren McCarty
First Impression: The Oakley Gascan has a great fit, they sit snuggly on my head without slipping, but they are not too tight either. There is nothing worse than a pair of glasses that pinches you temple giving you a headache. The Gascan fit is perfect; the lens quality is sharp and has the right amount of tint. These glasses are great for bike rides, hikes and everyday life.
Weight: Worth their weight in gold, the glasses are comfortable when wearing on my face or on my forehead when I step inside to shop or take care business.
Size: The Oakley Gascan is designed to fit medium to large faces
Construction: Both lenses are cut from a single lens shield; this gives the lenses a continuous contour, peripheral vision and visual clarity. The frame material is made out of lightweight O Matter, which is also high stress resistant. Oakley also makes prescription lenses for the Gascan as well as some of their other models.
Style: I have received several compliments on these glasses, they go well with most clothing options and make you look like you are serious about you eyes and the quality of gear you purchase. I would not have thought to buy white sunglasses, but I really like the way they look and so do others.
Testing: I wear these glasses on a daily basis, they are great for biking, hiking, tailgating at Red Rocks before a concert, and they are also perfect for spring skiing and hitting the mean streets of the city. Best of all they are rugged and will take a beating, I dont recommend dropping you glasses, but if you do the Gascan can handle the abuse.
Colors: Black Plain/Warm Grey, Matte Black/Grey, Polished Black/Grey, Polished Rootbeer/Bronze, Crystal Black/Black Iridium, Polished White/Black Iridium
Polished White Frames/Black Iridium Lenses used for Testing
Various Lens Tints are available as replacements or customization: Ranging from $45-$55 USD

They lack any rubber on the nose and temple pieces, just like the Oakley Fives I have. I replaced my Oakleys with some Native Grinds, which are way WAY better. Large temple rubber patches to help grip your sweaty dome, rubber nose piece to stay up on your face, polarized interchangeable lenses, soft case, hard case, and one spare set of lenses. In addition, the styling is similar to the Gas Can/Oil Rigs.

Hi Salman,
If you dig the Gas Can style and want to stick with Oakley, check out the Oakley Scalpel - they have rubber nose and temple pads and are great for mtb action.

Hey butch,
There is no flat rate for international shipping. Unfortunately we are not allowed to ship Oakley internationally either. Visit this link to see the list of brands that are also unavailable for international shipment.

I really do like these sunglasses a lot. The optics that oakley uses far surpass anything else on the market. The lens material is as impact resistant as safety goggles. They offer 100% UV protection. The only thing I wish is that the lens was somewhat taller. This frame design is classic, and does fit most medium to large faces well, but since it is a few years old, most men's glasses are becoming a little taller and rounder.

Hi i am 14 years old but look like i am 12 or 13. My hate size is a 7. Will these fit me? If not where can i get the gascan small because they do not sell it on the oakley website.

Hey,
I have a 14 yr. old cousin and she looks like she is 10. So I think I know the style you need.
I would go for the Jupiter or Correspondent Oakley Sunglasses instead of the Gascan. Just because they are more trendy and will look good on your head size. The Gascan is round and big around your face. They will probably look to over-sized.
Let me know what you decide,
Grete

I've gone thru alot of Oakleys and I loved these for there simple design, to bad I lost them in the ocean. Comfortable for all day use, and they held up quite well to a couple years of abuse.

I ended up returning mine for two reasons. First, i noticed that the lens didn't quite sit in the frame correctly after a while. Also, every time I worn them for more than a short period of time, it hurt where the temple grips met my skull. Probably a combination of big noggin and narrow glasses (and no, I didn't get the small size).
Sorry, they were okay, protected well, but they hurt and I had concerns about the quality.

If you are ever in doubt about what type of sunglasses you should be wearing, these are the go to sunglasses. I wear my Electric BICKLE sunglasses just about every day, but when I need a pair of sunglasses while on my fixie, mountain bike, or pretty much any sport, the Gas Cans always come out. I beat them down, sat on them, hit by a baseball and yet they only look better.
