The Oakley Gas Can polarized sunglasses are built to stare down the competition. Tough, lightweight O Matter frames will take the abuse of rough days on the track without flinching. Optically correct XYZ lenses ensure you'll stay focused on your opponents. Polarization reduces the glare of asphalt and water, so you don't miss a moment of the action. The Gas Can exceeds ANSI standards for impact resistance, and the Plutonite lenses block all the harmful UV rays that could slow you down.
I've had three of these now all polarized I like to lose them alot...they are a good fit for most occasions only drawback I'd say is if you got the wind at your face the lenses are a little small and will let some debre in.
My fiance got me these for Christmas a few years back and I've loved 'em ever since. The wrap fit is perfect, the polarized lenses are a MUST in my book. Also, these things break and go back together very easily. I had a nasty accident on my bike involving a log, a tree, and a fairly thick branch that broke off on my neck, these things were in about 4 different pieces when I realized they weren't on my head, everything popped back together fine, never a problem, and they have taken quite a beating, will likely just buy new lenses, these frames are holding up fine.
Bottom Line: If you like the style, BUY THEM, they are well worth it!
GasCan the best!!! had this pair for almost 5 years now.. o got the polarized too... i was cleaning in our yard and i tree branch hit my face and the gascan saved my eye... there was a big scratch on the lense but the frame was still intact... bought new lense and its back in action... love them

Most definitely. The polarized lens is ideal for prolonged outdoor activities. Polarized lenses have a filter that reduces the amount of light that is reflected that enters the eye. It generally reduces glare on snow (which causes snow blindness), asphalt (like when you are driving) and/or inside your windshield. So if glare is an issue, polarized is the way to go.
I bought these mainly for casual wear and because they are a relatively inexpensive polarized option. I really like them. The optics are the typical Oakley high quality. Polarization really works to reduce the glare off of water and snow. My only have two complaints about these. One is that I can't wear these with a hat on. I have to tilt them to get them to fit over a hat and this causes them to not fit right. Second is they put a little pressure on my temples when I wear them for more than 4 or 5 hours. They are just a tiny bit too tight in the temple area for a long periods of wear. But other than than those two minor complaints, I think these are great. Very happy with yet another Oakley product.
These are great sunglasses, I bought them for backpacking in Utah and they really reduced glare off of the rocks and desert varnish. They are a bit tight on my temples after a few hours and like another reviewer said, the don't perch on my head very well. I have a big head and face (7 5/8 hat size) and they look really great. However, they do scratch really easily. I always keep them in thier case and somehow they had a scratch after 3 months.
The Gas Can's have to be the best that I have ever owned. I have Half Jackets and Jaw Bones and I thought those were excellent! I spent the extra money on the polarized lens and they are second to none. Clear and sharp vision. The are sides that extend require a little time to get used to. I have a narrow face and the frames fit perfectly. They don't pinch behind my ears and they rest lightly on my nose. The only suggestion for Oakley is a rubber tip for the end of the arms. The frames tend to slide off of my ball cap, so, I have to leave them over the ears and off of the cap so they will stay in place. I give them 5 stars
Always have had and loved Oakley products. I can wear these glasses all day long, and not notice them. Polarized is the best way to go with all sunglasses. They fit under my Motorcycle helmet with no pressure spots, and look great around town. Quit waiting around, and BUY theses shades.
I bought these off SteepAndCheap when some douche stole my normal gascans out of my jeep. I was blown away by the quality of the optics. In bright conditions there visuals are crisp and clean, no distortion and no degradation. I have a huge head (64cm) and they fit me good. A bit snug at first but either they broke in a bit or I stopped noticing.
I'll be buying these again when I inevitably hose the lenses.
They look nice, but I have to advise against buying them online. The bridge didn't sit correctly on my nose and never felt right, but the reason I sent them back was the temples. Maybe it's because I have a big head (wear a 7 5/8 baseball cap), but they began to pinch pretty bad with extended wear, and I couldn't comfortably perch them up on my head.
I really like these sunglasses. It is true that these fit Medium to Large faces best. I think they are somewhat small on really large faces, but they still work. They fit somewhat wide, so if you have a narrow head they might fall off if you move around a lot. The overall styling is great, but after being in the mix for a few years they are starting to look a little 'old'. Square styling is still fire hot, but it seems that the newest frame designs are going towards a slightly rounder/taller look. These are a great classic design that should last for a while though.
I've had three of these now all polarized I like to lose them alot...they are a good fit for most occasions only drawback I'd say is if you got more...
