    Highway to the Danger Zone

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I wanted to be a fighter pilot as a kid, and in lieu of that, I suppose this may be about as close as it gets for me. These look great on bigger heads like mine. The field of view is pretty gigantic, and the light gray/black iridium color I bought seems to have a lens that works pretty well in most lighting conditions.

I was a bit worried about them fitting under my helmet (Smith Aspect XL), but it couldn't fit more perfectly. I will say that the lens in the gray/iridium option is much more mirrored from the outside than it appears in the pictures here. It still has a slightly brown tint in the right light, but is almost completely opaque/reflective from the outside.

    Highly recommended!

    Big ole lens

The phrase “Flight Deck” is the perfect description for these goggles. The lens is very big, which gives me an incredible field of view. I use these goggles on overcast, flat light days. The Hi Yellow lens really helps the bumps pop out. They are very comfortable and do not slide around on my helmet. Once again, Oakley did not disappoint with these goggles.

      Good but could be better

Agree with all the positives so I won't repeat them. The lens swap is a major let down. I would say forget about quickly changing lenses on the slopes. Electric's EG3 is mikes better in this regard. In fact I sold my flight deck and got the EG3 and couldn't be happier.

        Really sick

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Returned some spys because of the horrible field of vision and decided to give these a try, you can see every feature and bump from a mile away! They are pretty huge on the face but they are super comfy and look clean. Fits great on a helmet and doesn't slip because of the silicon backing. All around stoked on these, Oakly makes a great product. Well worth the money!

        Big and Bold

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The Oakley Flight Decks are just as the name suggests, they're so large you could almost land a plane on them. These goggles are ideal for anyone with a large face or simply just want an awesome looking goggle that has a very large field of vision. The lenses in these goggles are incredible, they have great clarity and with the Prizm technology you get a great advantage, especially in flat light conditions. All in all, these goggles are rad and make a statement.

        Crystalline

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These goggles fit great from small/narrow/wide heads. The goggles themselves are plush and seat nicely on the face creating an amazing seal. The lenses come in a plethora of options including Oakleys prizm technology. The prizm lens is hands down the best lens I have ever used in all conditions. It allows you to see the articulations of all aspects no matter what the light is doing. I have used these in comparison to the Smith IOS and the POC line and there is no comparison to the clarity and the quality of the prizm lens. Other than that, this is another great Oakley goggle that gives you the frameless style with an increased perception of your periphery. I can't imagine you will be disappointed.

        Whoa.

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These goggles are simply amazing. The field of view is impressive, as the there is no frame to hinder your vision. I was able to wear my eyeglasses (with a helmet) under these without a problem - nothing seemed to smash my frames against my face.

I do find the lens frustrating to swap out. I watched a few YouTube videos, and still found myself struggling... I didn't want to be too rough on these considering the price!

        Get's the job done!

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I purchased these goggles for a good friend of mine, so I have some feedback to share.

The goggles fit well, having used them with a helmet. They don't slide down at all, and stay in place all day unless you move them. The strap is easily adjustable, and also has a good range to fit either a helmet or on your head.

The lens is clear, does not fog, and provides an amazing field of view. The goggles rest comfortably against your face, and doesn't create any painful pressure.

All in all a great goggle!

        Really Nice Goggles!!!

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I own a pair of Smith IO/X and love them. A buddy of mine told me about how the Oakley Prizm lens works really well in snow and flat light conditions, so I bought a pair of Flight Decks along with the Prizm Rose lens. I was skiing recently in Utah in a variety of light conditions. While the lens wasn't stellar in bluebird conditions (it was definitely adequate), it really excelled when the clouds rolled in. I was at Snowbird and heard a female snowboarder saying, "I can't see $hit!" In fact, I could see fairly well, so I knew that this goggle/lens combo was a winner.

        Really Nice Goggles!!!

        Very good

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Have these with the hi persimmon lenses. They are a very good goggle. My last goggles were A-frames with regular persimmon lenses. These are better. Not light years better but definitely have a wider field of view and the hi persimmon lens seems to be brighter. As far as the fleece padding it is soft and there is a lot of it. I tried on 5 pair of goggles and the fleece padding on all of them was great. These lenses had no glare which I liked compared to the smith goggles I tried that showed a halo when around lights.

in the end 100% of my decision was based on comfort. These fit my face well when combined with my Smith helmet. Most goggles squeeze my nostrils and these didn't.

They did fog a tiny bit in the bottom corners while on the lift. It immediately dissipates but they will fog. They also fog in the back of the warm cat after each run but immediately unfog once you get out. any airflow at all will immediately defog them.

They are good. I recommend trying on lots of goggles to find a pair you like.

        Works well for faceshots

after a thorough day of testing at Alta, these goggles are certified for powder days!

These goggles are incredible! They are perfect for every winter condition. I took them up on a sunny day, cloudy day and a day when it snowed for hours but I was able to see great regardless of the weather. The large foam surrounding them makes them super comfy and able to see side to side. Lastly, they look awesome! I got a ton of compliments from friends and family. Oakley has done it again with these great goggles!

Are the lens transparent, looking for a good pair that you can't see through.

Hi, do either of the Flight Deck variants currently available come with PRIZM lenses? I didn't see any mention of such, but on Oakley's own site, it doesn't appear as if the Black Iridium lens is offered in a non-PRIZM variant.

Are there going to be more of the flight deck goggles coming in stock? I really wanted the jade prism iridium with matte black frame but now it's out of stock

        Unanswered Question

Anybody had issues with these fogging? The lack of any front-facing vents/holes (like most other popular goggles) is a little concerning, especially after john's Jan 26 review.

Are absolutely ALL of the lenses interchangeable with each goggle frame for the new Flight Decks?

        Best Answer

Any Flight Deck lens will work with any Flight Deck frame. They are not interchangeable across different model frames. (IE a Canopy lens would NOT work with a Flight Deck frame)

Here's a link to the Flight Deck replacement lens page on our site - any lens color variant will work with the frame on this page.

I love the look of these but can't tell which lens would be good for the typical low light conditions in New England. I hear the prizm lens can handle all light conditions. Is this true?

The best lenses for low light would be the Hi Yellow for really low flat light conditions, and the Hi Persimmon for low light on days where the sun may come through. The Hi Persimmon is my go to when it is low light but there is a chance the sun may poke through the clouds.

I used to use the Hi Yellow as well but found it didn't have the contrast I needed. Sure it makes the lighting brighter but didn't really help with what the snow looked like. I rock the Prizm Rose for everything other than bluebird days and its perfect. Great on partly cloudy days and AMAZING when its overcast / snowing.
