Oakley Fives 2.0 - Sunglasses - 2006 BCS

Excellent sunglasses, best I've worn overall for all different types of activities. Fits a more narrow face. This is my second pair after I lost the first a few years ago.

I was recently in the market for a new set of glasses, but I have this nasty habit of buying pricey glasses and breaking or losing them. I don't like the real cheap drug store glasses because they don't fit my narrow face very well.

After I broke my last pair of nice glasses--arnette polarized wrap-around glasses, I decided that I didn't want to spend a ton of money, but still wanted a quality pair of glasses. Initially zeroing in on the Oakley Fives Squared, I thought they were just a little to much money. I saw that backcountry was selling the fives 2.0 at a great price, so I took a chance on the brown glasses. I was quite pleased with the service I received from backcountry and would definitely consider them again.

The glasses themselves have turned out to be very nice. They are light and comfortable on my face. The optics are decent and they block a good amount of the sun without being too dark to see out of if it's an overcast day. I would recommend these glasses to anyone considering them.

I have a small face so I have a hard time finding glasses that don't look enormous. Bought the Fives and they instantly became the best pair of sun glasses Ive ever bought. They hold up great-from falls off life guarding chairs to being stuffed in a backpack for 2 weeks getting tossed around a mountain. I love them

After reading the other reviews about fitting smaller heads and good durablilty I decided to splurge and pick these up. They have been good in those respects. When ordering them on SAC they ran out of the black frames before I could purchasee so I got the crystal black frame instead. When they showed up at my door the frames are more of a opaque smoke, very hard to tell from the pics. It lets the sun through the frame of the glasses, which is hard to deal with when the sun is overhead, lets a surprising amount of light get to your eyes. I still use them in the car where the sun can only come in low and the roof protects my eyes from the overhead rays. I have to use another pair of glasses for outdoor activities.

I've owned several pair of Oakley sunglasses and these rank right up towards the top. They are comfortable, look great and for the money, are a great bargain! I have a smaller head, and these fit well!

Ah, the glasses that started my love affair with the Oak. These things have seriously taken a beating, and they are still completely fine. I got hit in the head with a beer bottle at a concert while in the pit, they fell off, some fat guy was jumping on them, and they survived. I have no idea how, but they did. Also, bright sun on white snow is never an issue with the grey lenses. It's also worth mentioning that I have a small face, and these would probably fit a medium face (medium girl or a thin guy), but a larger face might want to find something bigger.

These are great no non-sence sunglasses. This is my third pair and have only had to buy new ones because of loosing the old ones. They are great for everything from yard work, baseball, hiking, fishing, you get the picture. Best pair of shades I've ever had period.

This is my second pair of Oakley sunglasses in the last 6 years... that's because they last. My last pair of Oakley Fives were great! Unfortunately they were lost, but now I have the 2.0s. I like everything about these sunglasses except it does not say "Oakley" in while letters across the front of the bridge (I have the flat black version) like I saw in some online photos. Not a big deal really, I buy them for comfort and style, not so much that they're made by Oakley. Recommended to anyone who wants a simple, comfortable, affortable pair of sunglasses and who doesn't want bargain bin junk from Walmart!

The sale price at backcountry.com is a steal for these glasses. I bought them to replace a pair my wife gave me back on '06 that I lost kayaking. The 2.0's are lightweight, comfortable when worn for long periods of time, and are great for driving, mountain biking, working in the yard outside, and doing just about anything else outside. The glare reduction and UVA/UVB protection is awesome!

i use these primarily for work and they serve there purpose wonderfully. these were a replacement purchase, i had the other ones for four years before a dog chewed them up.. these last forever and are very durable.

These looked really cool and after reading all the rave reviews I decided to buy them. Alas, they have been returned. They are flimsy, not solid...sorta junky. I have an average sized face and but these did not not cover my eyes completely. I felt like I was wearing bifocals. A pair of Native has taken their place...

Awesome base pair of O's. I got the black with grey lens. I live in northwest Ohio where the weather changes constantly and these glasses just easily take it all in stride. Very light and comfortable. I have gotten alot of complements on how nice and classy they look. I have a small head so they may not fit someone with a larger head. A+++

These are the best sunglasses I have ever owned. I'm not a fan of the newer Oakley models which look more like TransFormer toys than sunglasses. My brother has had a pair of Fives for 10 yrs now and I liked them so much I bought my own. The are very light and cut down on glare. I recommend these glasses.

I had a pair of the first generation Oakley fives. After 10 years of putting up with my abuse, and traveling to over 13 different countries with me, they finally broke. I had to finally replace them, and of course I went with the next generation of the fives.

These are as comfortable as sunglasses get, and look great on you. Not like a bug like most other sunglasses out there.

Bottom line: BUY THESE, you won't regret it!

As an owner of a pair of Oakley Five 2.0 sunglasses, I am proud to say that these are the best sunglasses ever made! I live on a Caribbean island which means it is always hot and sunny, and I’m surrounded by sea, sand, and surf. I went to a local store and I had been admiring the Oakley Minutes which every one here in Barbados had. I tried them on and they did not really suit my small to medium sized face. Then I tried the Five’s. They looked perfect on me. I have brown lenses which block 100% UV rays that are very harmful to the eyes. I am now so attached to the sunglasses that when I take them off and the sun is still shining I have to close my eyes. Thanks to Oakley, I can go to the beach everyday without a care (all I need is sunblock)!

The second day into a week-long cycling trip I left my usual cycling sunglasses at a friend's house so substituted the Oakley Fives. They were great. They kept the sun, bugs, and debris out of my eyes while providing an excellent and clear view!

I have had Oakleys in the past and have even tried others and returned to Oakley. I have a small face so these frames are a perfect fit for me. The only negative thing that I can say is that they fog up at times because they sit pretty close to my face. I still love them.

They work great. I went to a baseball game. It was very sunny/bright and they really made a difference.
