Gretchen Bleiler’s concerns for the environment and her love of ballz-out snowboarding combine to form the Oakley Women’s En Bleiler Jacket. The four-time Winter X Games snowboard champion made sure her signature loose-fit jacket uses earth-friendly Eco Storm fabric and has fully taped seams so you can ride through the winter wet without getting soaked. Critically placed fleece backing and light Thinsulate insulation provides warmth where you need it while Underarm zips dump heat when you attack the park. A removable pow skirt, hood, and wrist gaiters block snow all season long.
When they say windproof, they mean it. This jacket is awesome - I bought it last season for snowboarding and it keeps the snow out and heat in, in all the right places. It's definitely on the baggier side, as the specs mentioned, so you definitely have room to move. The only downside is that I wish I could find the zip-in liner, but I've searched forever online and can't seem to find it. I don't think I'd use it very often, since the shell already provides so much insulation, but it would nice to have the choice. All around, great jacket.
I bought this jacket for my girlfriend, and although I agree with Matilda that the magnetic "buttons" may prove problematic in use, my girlfriend loves the jacket and says that the buttons aren't a problem. Hopefully she still feels that way after extended use of the jacket.
Barring the possibility of rising irritation level regarding the magnetic buttons, the zip-off hood, hand snow skirts (called "hand-panties" in Matilda's review, a term I like), material, feel, color--all are great features. It looks great on the wearer, and when I put it on just to see how it fit/felt, I was really impressed, even though it's much too small for me to do anything active in it. The "critically placed fleece" mentioned in the product description is pretty cool too--they didn't add any extra material here, only a couple of small sections to match up where your body loses the most heat, thus keeping the bulk and weight of the jacket down while providing the extra insulation that makes this jacket just one step above a shell. Very impressed, overall, and if this jacket came in a men's version, I'd probably buy it for myself.

i ordered this jacket in a large according to my measurements in the the sizing chart, but when i got it home i could almost wrap it around me twice! i must have been too excited shopping and overlooked the "loose fit" description, im exchanging it for a smaller size, just curious if i should jump down to a small rather than a medium, to avoid having to send it back again for the medium might be too big as well... ???
This jacket is awesome. Cool color (not pastel like in some pictures). The magnets are not a problem and are actually way easier then snaps when you have gloves on. It fits well (not tight and girly, but loose, steezy haha). The side vents are also really useful on hot days. My only problem with it is that it's not warm, at all. It really is just a shell so if you're looking for something warm, you'll have to really layer under (I wear lightweight down jacket under it sometimes even). There are two zippers, so you could technically zip some kind of jacket into it, but oakley doesn't make any, and I haven't found any jackets that do. Overall, great jacket I highly recommend!
It really comes down to your tolerance of cold, this is slightly insulated so it may or may not keep you warm depending on your tolerance and where you are skiing.
I love the fabric; lightweight and supple...and the color--I love the green. I was especially excited that it was recycled. But that's as far as it goes. As soon as I unzipped it out of the bag I knew the magnets were going to be a problem. They snap together w/ super force--what a pain. The hood is lame---zip off which is not indicated in the description and there is no weight to the brim. And the hand-panties are lame too--only one layer of fabric w/ no heat seal. They will pull and run in no time. I'm sending it back.
Actually, the description states: "A removable pow skirt, hood, and wrist gaiters block snow all season long." Granted, the adjective "removable" could be taken to only modify the noun "pow skirt," but removable hoods are typical enough that I was expecting both the pow skirt and hood to be removable, and they are.
I bought this jacket for park skiing in Whistler this season and its perfect! Light and just enough warmth for the sunny days without having to take your jacket off and ski in a jersey. Also, its cute without being "ski bunny," baggy enough to be legit and you can layer the sh** out of it in the cold cold weather. Also its a really sick green color, not pastel like in the photos. If youre looking for something fitted and super girly this is not the jacket for you, but otherwise GET IT!
