Wear the versatile NRS Men's Hydrosilk Long-Sleeve Rash Guard Top alone during your next paddling trip, or use it as a base layer under your splash jacket when the weather cools. The soft, stretchy nylon and spandex material keeps you warm when you go for an unexpected swim and dries quickly when you get back into your boat.

Bottom Line: Make your next river trip more comfortable with the NRS Hydrosilk Rash Guard Top.

nice reef shirt, runs small

By:
October 21, 2010

I ordered the XL, but it fit more like an L (not tight, just too small overall). Otherwise a nice product. Apparently well-made and stylish too. Had to return it. Might get the XXL.

You want these to fit tight like under armor. They loosen up a little once they get wet. I bought one for boogie boarding in Hawaii. I got a size larger than I should have and it rode up on me every time a wave hit me. Of course, if you want it mainly for sun protection, get whatever size feels good.

A great aquatics skin

By:
May 28, 2008

These are great shirts for water activities. I originally bought one for its sun protection value and it turned out to be my favorite aquatics skin. Keep it in natural waters, they don't fare well in chlorinated waterparks or pools. My son and I both wear them for swimming, canoeing and snorkling. They dry fast and keep you warm in a cool breeze.

Stitching...

By:
February 17, 2010

If it weren't for the stitching, I would give this product 5 stars. It is great for those days when the drips from your paddle coupled with a cool breeze are prepping your nipples to cut glass (this long sleeve version is nice for even cooler days, or for long paddle trips when you need to avoid sun burn). The fabric hugs tight, holding in heat while still giving the ladies a show. Quick drying, it also tends to stay cool for those days when the sun is playing hide and go seek behind the clouds. Just like its short sleeve counterpart, this shirt's stitching has a tendency to unravel after a few uses. This can be remedied by CAREFULLY melting the threads where they double back over themselves.
BTW, I'm 5'9 170# and athletically built, I wear a medium.

Original "Rashies" from The Land Down Under-Australia were used to prevent the rash that occurs from sand embedded on the surf board wax.

Durable Rash Guard

By:
October 24, 2009

These rash guards are extremely durable. The material is holding up very well from some serious grinds in both sand and pools. They fit true to size but they do, as most will, ease up on the tightness factor when they get wet. All in all I would say it's a great buy and something that has been used a ton without a single issue. Just as a note, I do rinse it very well if I use it in a chlorinated pool and I have had any problems with fading.

Well made, but cold

By:
June 18, 2010

i recently ordered a large Hydrosilk. Seems to be well made, and a little thicker then some of my previous rashguards. The sizing seemed a little more realistic then some other brands also.
I was hoping to use it for stand up paddling and windsurfing in the Bay area, but is pretty cold feeling when worn alone or even under my paddling jacket. I'm sure it would feel great on a hot day on a river or in the tropics, but I'm finding I'm just too cold often when I am using this.

Review Title

Very tough shirt. This guy saved my arse when I got rolled over some lava rock in Kawaii. Wish I had a whole suit of this stuff.
