Great heavy duty wetshoe

This will keep your feet dry and warm when it the water is cold. I use these primarily for kayaking, so I'm in the water putting in and getting out. My feet are kept dry which is especially helpful in the fall and spring here in Minnesota when the water is still fairly cold.
Nice thick sole

These wetshoes are super comfortable, seem to have a little stretch or something, so your foot can move easily, but with a nice layer of padding. Keep your feet warm, like a wetsuit does for your body.
The side zip makes for easy on/off, and the velcro strap keeps the zipper pull in place.
I wear a women's size 6.. and ordered a men's size 5.
I would rank them high in durability. I've used them in the ocean, stepping on coral. Protected my feet, and still look like new. Also not slippery on rocks, pretty grippy.

These wetshoes are awesome for colder weather water sport. There is even room to wear neoprene wetsocks underneath if you order your size or half a size up. Even though the foot is tractioned, I would switch out to regular shoes when done paddling on overnight trips.
Did not work for me

I expected it would be waterproof but it was not. While walking in the river to test them I found that my foot was slipping around inside the shoe and unbalancing me as I stepped across rocks. I did not think that they were particularly good at gripping rocks in the river either though it may have been as much due to slippage inside the shoe than slipping on the rock. On a more positive note I would say that the sole of the shoe is well padded and protected my feet from sharp rock edges.

they will take on water, but like a wetsuit, they will keep you warm regardless.

Wet in wetsuit means that you will get wet. But if you ever worn a wetsuit in a spring river, you know it really makes a huge difference in your body temp
Work well for the material

They work great but remember they are mostly neoprene and will absorb water if they stay in water for very long (more than 5-10 seconds).

I wear a 9.5 size shoe on land. Should I go with the next size up (9.0) or down (10.0)?

I got a pair of these a couple of months back. I normally wear a size 13 shoe comfortably. I really wanted a pair of these, but they were only available up to size 12, so that is what I ordered. They were perfectly sized. I can even fit a pair of smartwool socks inside them, and that makes them comfortable enough to sleep in. So my suggestion would be to go with the size smaller and a good pair of wool socks.

Got these for my dad and he loves them. He has some of the widest feet around and he can slip into them easily with the zipper and cinch them up nicely with the strap. Good support in rocky terrain without any slipping. These shoes kept him warm even in February in northern Utah's chilly water.

Does the sole is hard enough, can I walk on river stones without any complain?

Alonso,There is a "2mm mid-sole shim protects your feet from sharp rocks." These are designed to be used walking to, in, and around water. These will work for walking on river stones, which are going to be smooth and flat. On top of the mid sole you 7mm of padding that will provide additional comfort.Mahalo, Sumo

They'll certainly help, but your feet will still be wet. If you're in a kayak, they'll be much warmer than in a raft, where the cold water is refreshed every few seconds.
They do the job

I've been using these shoes for whitewater kayaking and they do the job. They hold water and can make my feet wrinkled, but that's what you can expect from neoprene booties. My feet definitely don't every get cold in them.

the sizing is confusing. Are the sizes offered in UK or mens sizes? I'm a womens 39- what size would I order please?

The sizes are US mens. Women should order one size down. An EU 39 = a mens US 6.5 so you probably should order a mens 6.

I am a women's size 6, and ordered a men's size 5.. Fit like a (comfortable) glove. Seems to have a little give, conforms well around the foot.
