Your kayak capsized, but you have a bilge pump. Yeay! But the bilge pump sunk and is now at the bottom of the ocean. Booo. NRS includes a float with the Bilge Pump, so your pump will happily bob up and down next to you in the water as you right your boat and start pumping. The Bilge Pump's steel screws resist rust.

Bottom Line: The NRS Bilge Pump—because a pump at the bottom of the river or ocean is not terribly helpful.

this is a very handy item to have in your boat. i take my 60# lab with me in an old town 138 and he always jumps in the drink sooner or later. so when i have to hoist him back in the boat he brings along about a gallon of water too. with this pump its a snap to get the water back in the drink.

I'm interested in knowing the outer diameter of both the intake and outlet ports of this kayak bilge pump. I'm considering rigging a manual live-well using a 5 gallon bucket, some plastic hosing, thru-hull connectors, and a kayak bilge pump (since I'll have it on the boat for safety already). I'll use the pump to circulate fresh, cool, oxygenated water into the bucket occasionally throughout the day to keep my baits lively. I'm trying to avoid the cost, maintenance, and hassle associated with an electric rig. I need to know the diameters so I can determine if there are thru-hull connectors and hosing with the appropriate diameters. Thanks!

pump it up

We had to buy a second NRS bilge pump because the first was used in a water fight and got filled with sand and locked up on us. However, when used to pump water as it was designed to, the NRS bilge pump is great! You can empty a deluged kayak pretty darn quick and with no strain or tiredness. It's perfect for a water fight too but keep it away from the beach.
