The APX 5 snowboard boot from Northwave is pro level footwear built for team riders and all-mountain rulers. Taking inspiration from their pro model boots Northwave has constructed the APX 5 to meet the demands of the snowboarder who doesn't hold back in any terrain. With a supportive Tri-layer upper this boot is amongst the warmest and most responsive they make. The smooth looking upper is a result of the double lasting technique that effectively hides the midsole for extra style points. A TF2 liner with locking laces keeps your heel in place and continues to form to the shape of your foot with each wearing. The boot lace flows through custom molded lace savers and locks to let the rider go as tight or loose as they like. EVA padding makes the midsole light and shock resistant and is mated to the pro designed Aero sole for responsive board feel.

I live in Australia, and so I was a little concerned these boots would not fit right when they arrived. But the fit is perfect, so that was a relief. They are so much cheaper to buy and ship from the USA than to buy in Australia, about half price, including freight! The boots themselves look cool, but are a lot bulkier than my old Airwalks and now my binding straps aren't long enough. Bummer. I haven't used them yet. It's still summer time, but I'm off to the mountain in July. Yay.
