Show up to your next ride with Northwave Lizzard S.B.S Mountain Bike Shoes and be prepared to throw down with stiff carbon soles and plenty of aeration. When your mountain bike gets bogged down and it’s time to portage, widely-spaced lugs shed mud and screw-in spikes provide traction on steep and loose terrain. An abundance of venting--thanks to Lakes Air Flow System--keeps your feet cool when the sun is at its hottest, and an anatomic footbed gives you the support to take your riding to the edge.

Bottom Line: Light, breathable, surefooted, and bad-ass.

Great shoe, but sizing appears off

By:

The shoes are awesome; they look great, and they fit great with the use of the velco and ratchet straps. This makes for really efficient energy transfer to the pedals.

However, it was difficult finding the right size. I normally wear a 12.0 - 12.5, and I had to order three pairs before finding one that fits (almost). I started with 45.0 and 45.5, but they were both too small. The 46.0 is a much better fit, but still not perfect for my feet. I have narrow feet, but the shoes still feel narrow in the front.

anybody have any more information on how Northwave's Fit.

anybody have any more information on how Northwave's Fit. I am probably in between a 43.5 and 44. I have some older shimano 43s that kill and are way to small. Just tried on some shimano 44's and they were doable but a little big.

I'm consistently a 10 1/2. My Northwaves are a 43 and my Shimanos are a 45, which matches both of their sizing charts.

Online sizing chart accurate

Got these from SAC. Great price. Used online sizing chart - great fit. They run a little wider than I expected, so I just fasten them tightly. Good stiff sole and they look good too. Like the ratchet system on the top fastener.

they run small

These appear to be great shoes out of the box. Beware, however, I had to ship mine back and buy a full TWO sizes bigger than my usual shoe. I usually wear a 11.5 and had to go up to 13.5.

Size was just right for me. I bought the Vertigo, which is basically the identical road version of this. I wear 8.5 2E in running shoes and the 41 fit me like a glove, so maybe just the x-large sizes are off.
