There's no middle ground in the backcountry.

Norrøna created the Men's Trollvegen Warm2 Stretch Pullover Top for backcountry adventures where extreme conditions demand peak performance from gear. Warm2's tight weave means wind stays out and warmth stays in, and added durability is a plus as well. A high level of flex and stretch allows you a full and natural range of motion.

Just like I like it

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Great top. not to hot and to cold
I use it in spring in the night for trekking

Cut for comfortable range of motion

Cut for comfortable range of motion

Lighter material inside elbow and more complex cuts for comfortable big range of motion.

Great quality

The fit on this is great if you are fairly tall and thin. It is a bit tighter than other similar tops. I use an XL in this (I'm 6'3", 175lb) and it is not bulky at all. I felt a bit confined in an L (my usual size). I'd say sleeves run a bit long compared to other brands (that's good for me). If you are a bigger husky guy you might have trouble finding a good fit in Norrona tops. A great single layer for outdoor activity in cool weather. Also works great as base or mid layer in colder weather. There is a lighter, flexible material inside the elbow making for really easy and comfortable big range of motion. Handy zip chest pocket. Very thoughtfully designed for active outdoor activities. It super warm for its weight and breaks wind well.

Great quality

Good review. Am I the only who who had flashbacks of beavis and butthead when they read "breaks wind well"?

An excellent base or mid layer

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I live in Wisconsin. It gets cold here. When I say cold, I mean I've driven to work several times in sub zero temps. When the wind picks up, you better have some good gear to keep your butt warm out there. This shirt has definitely won me over. It's fairly wind proof, but not 100%.
People complain about the collar, but I love it. Zip it up all the way and keep your neck toasty, with no need for a scarf.
Wear it with the Trollveggen Fleece Jacket for ultimate warmth.

Excellent - already a favorite

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Norrona products are awesome -- especially if you are tall and skinny. This has already replaced a similar item I had from Patagonia and Cloudveil. So glad to have Backcountry selling most of their line. Quality and fit are excellent. The details and Polartec materials make me want to try more of this brand as I am able. Not sure what others were talking about, the collar is fine up or down.

Collar is too large...

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

It just flops over itself and looks awkward, and it's too tight when zipped all the way up. It's too bad because I liked the colors and rest of the design. Seems reasonably warm and wind resistant, however.
