Rigorously tested in some of Norway's roughest terrain (i.e. cold, wet, rocky, and inhabitable) by top climbers, the Norrona Men's Trollveggen Dri3 Climbing Bib offers you waterproof windproof breathable three-layer protection and the comfort of a two-way stretch membrane. Norrona didn't skimp on the details either; water-resistant YKK zippers and fully taped seams seal the cracks, a cargo pocket stores your energy snack, adjustable hems customize comfort, and zippered venting dumps the heat from your climb. Norrona also reinforced the ankle zones with Superfabric, so you don't rip your investment to shreds and lose confidance while you're clinging to the side of a giant rock or climbing up a frozen waterfall. Integrated suspenders improve the comfort and stability of the Trollveggen Dri3 Climbing Bib. Norrona's medium fit optimizes movement without leaving loose parts for gear to snag on.

    .
Inside layer around the boot, knee and back pocket peeled in the first season.
They are unfortunately no longer water proof.
Only used for skiing, never climbing.
The fit in the boot area is tight, with no snow skirt. The zipper in the back also showed
signs of wear from sitting (on ski lifts). I would not advise buying these pants.

    dont buy

i just bought a pair of these pants. Two back country trips and the inner layer is pealing on the upper leg and boot area. Norrona repair sees the problem however the customer service cant offer a solution.

slim fit ....so i ordered a size bigger based on the blogs. i am very happy with these pants. fit great and have plenty of ventilation. these are great for skinning and backcountry trips.

I don't quite agree to the slim fit, here's another data point for reference.

For my skinny-ish 6'1" 167lbs frame the L is actually pretty relaxed fit, way looser than usual euro style gear. Recommend not to size up if you have normal BMI :-)

Probably worth it now when they're on sale.

Nice fit for me. The legs will be tight if you have fat legs, or possibly just normal ones.

Cinch at the ankle seems extraneous... I'm less than eager to tighten the inside of any waterproof garment directly against something like metal boot laces.

All I can say is that nothing will get through the "Superfabric" ankle zones, haha. Feels more like plastic than fabric...

I'm looking for a bib for a Denali attempt via the West Rib route this July. Lightweight, waterproof and as warm as can be is the combination I need. I'm 6'2' and 175 with long legs. Generally the euro fit works well for me. Will these be appropriate and long enough for my skinny legs?

They should be good. Warm and lightweight are a hard combination to find though. These won't fulfill the warm aspect of your equation, as they're just shell pants. Combine them with some down or primaloft pants and you'd be good though. Check out the First Ascent Igniter pants or the Mountain Hardwear Compressor Pants.

          Unanswered Question

I just got these and they look great but I have a question about how to work the side zips. I have never had pants with full side zips before but I thought they would be rather straightforward to use. These side zips go all the way around your seat but I can't figure out how to put the pants on without having to step through some part of it. I want to be able to put these pants on while wearing mountaineering boots and crampons so it would be great if I didn't have to step through part of the pants and risk ripping them. Anybody else who has this pair of pants have the same problem?

I haven't used these pants, but I have a similar pair of Arcteryx bibs that I used for skiing all last season and I loved them. Keep in mind that European sizing tends to be smaller in the waist and longer in the pants than typical US sizing. If these fit you then I would think that they'd be fine for skiing. If the sizing doesn't look quite right, you could look at the Arcteryx Theta SV - I highly recommend them for skiing.

I would say definitely yes if the pant fits you correctly.

Currently, I have these pants in a medium (exchanged from a small). I am 5’9” / 170lbs with a 32” waist for size comparison. I am contemplating another return for two reasons. First, the pants are very slim. They are slim through the seat and all the way down to the ankles. At first I ordered a small it was moose knuckle city and not bueno. After receiving the medium I still think the pant maybe too tight (layering / boot cuff). Secondly, the weight of the pant might be too heavy for my taste. This is because I want to use the pant for climbing and skiing.

What I will say about this pant is the quality of construction is unreal. You will not be disappointed. I dig the upper half of the bib how it is nice and soft, the full side zip that even goes up and around your seat, the small thigh pocket, and the simple waist belt. The material is great. It is sort of like a hard / soft shell hybrid – very breathable, flexible, and waterproof. You have nothing to loss – definitely order a pair (size up) and if you don’t like them return them.
