the caviar has a slight greyness to it that cant quite be seen in photos. it's actually very cool, but it's not solid black like some people would think

How does Dri3 compare to Pro Shell?

Gore-tex Pro Shell (either 2 or 3 Layered) is specified to perform better than Norrona's in-house dri3, both in terms of waterproofness as well as breathability. What this will translate to is you will stay drier and more ventilated (not clammy) inside your shell. This really makes a difference when you need to go through areas with wet winters.

Waterproof resistance (mm of water per 24 hrs) / Breathability (g/m2/24hrs) :
Gore-tex Pro : 28,000 / 25,000
dri3 : 20,000 / 20,000
