Begone, bunched up layers under boots.
All too often, innovation in outerwear comes from adding tech to clothes. Well, Norrona made the innovative Men's Narvik TechPlus 3/4 Tights by the opposite path: they took 1/4 of the baselayer away. Now, bunched up layers under your boots are gone, which helps with circulation, warmth, and comfort. That's not to say that the 3/4 tights aren't innovative with their composition, because they are. The brushed TechPlus fabric, made from polyester and elastane, are warm on the skin, have an ample amount of elasticity, and wick like a champ. Plus, this brushed polyester baselayer gets a boost with the Polygiene treatment so it repels odor.

- Q & A
Nice fabric but bunches up
I prefer 3/4 length thermal bottoms for ski and snowboard purposes. I've scored with most Norrona clothes, but not these. While the fabric is soft and mid-weight, it bunches up in the crotch area whenever hiking. I find myself opening the side zips on my shell pants and readjusting them way to often to gives these a good rating.
Nice fabric but bunches up
I prefer 3/4 length thermal bottoms for ski and snowboard purposes. I've scored w almost everything Norrona I've bought ... Not these, though.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: Runs small
Haven't used these yet but I'm really pumped on them. Good mid-weight fabric is very soft and feels warm. Solid stitching. Make sure you check the size chart though, these do run small (smaller than standard US sizes, anyway). I'm basically the same size as the model in the video so I ordered a Large and they fit exactly as shown.
I freakin love these elf pants
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
Ok, let's start with the bad. I got the green ones. And they are WAY green. Like, I don't even lounge around the house wearing these because I would embarrass even myself.
But that's the only bad part. I usually like 3/4 tights for alpine/tele skiing, touring, nordic, cool weather running, and I've had good success with cloud veil and houdini ones but these Norronas just blow the others away. They are thin but warm, they have a great "hand" and I don't overheat (cloudveils especially can get a bit warm if you are really moving around).
the other downside (if there is one...) is that I personally find Norrona stuff to be a bit overpriced. When these are on sale, snatch them up. Better yet, don't so there will be more for me.
