Big-mountain skiers and riders need burly protection from the wet and cold; pull on the Norrøna Women’s Narvik Gore-Tex 3L Performance Shell Pant and you’re ready to conquer the steeps. Melding European style with Gore-Tex waterproof breathable technology, this pant’s rugged three-layer fabric stands up to the gnarliest conditions. The Narvik pant has a softer side, too—the inside face, which is lined with super-soft, wicking microfiber lining keeps you warmer in biting cold.

  • Mesh-lined side-zip air vents dump heat on hikes to fresh lines
  • High back prevents snow from sliding down your rear, and back zip links to your Norrøna jacket
  • Articulated knees give you plenty of mobility for bump runs or tele turns
  • Reinforced cuffs protect the hems from boot abuse
  • Backcountry.com is the exclusive US retailer for Norrøna products

Bottom Line: Tough enough for the nastiest alpine conditions.

It's called freeride.

By:

These pants are rad. In my opinion they fit like most other freeride pants I've seen, and the waist is totally adjustable. I did size down from other brands. This is my second pair of Norrona pants, and they are just as bomb-proof as my old ones. These are probably the ski pants you'll see on ebay in 30 yrs and they will still be functioning like new. The raspberry color is bright and fun and the material is textured, almost like a subtle houndstooth. The pants seem to stay waterproof no matter what; I can leave my cell phone in my pocket and it stays dry all day. And it's easy to layer for any temperature. Pretty much the best performing ski pants I've ever had.

Nice pants, but huge!!!

By:
January 5, 2012

I should have read the reviews before ordering. I'm 5'5" 125lbs, ordered a small and yes, they were huge!!! I even like to wear my pants baggy and a little long. If you're 5'9" and 160lbs order the small, they will fit. Other than that, they're a great pant, nice sturdy material, bomber cuff/ski guard, waterproof zippers, vents could be a little bigger, but they're located on the exterior thigh which is nice for hiking. Rasberry Rose w/ neon green zips is a cool color too!

I am 5'5" and 111lbs and ordered the XS...same story...HUGE! The couple of soft-shell pants I have from them are quite snug in an XS! Same when it comes to the jackets. I like Norrona but the sizing is a bit hit or miss. Sometimes snug; sometimes HUGE like this one. The Mountain Hardware Botka pant fits me pretty well in an XS. It seems to be the smallest of all the performance shell pants I have ordered and I will probably go with it for this winter.

The specs in regard to pockets are accurate here. (I ordered them.) Be forewarned... they are HUGE...even in XS. No butt pockets not that one expect them on a garment designed for this use ;)

You might have to contact Norrona directly, or a retailer who is kind enough to pull one from the shop to check for you. The image of the rear does not exist online, sorry.

Amazing ski pant

By:
November 15, 2011

The rose color is amazing, the fit fantastic. I will live in these pants this winter. I wear a size 8 in pants, and the medium is perfect. It has lots of adjustments on the waist. I ordered the matching jacket, and have not gotten it yet, but it looks like the jacket zips onto the powder skirt so no snow or wind can go up the back. Very excited about this brand. I ordered a large jacket, to fit avvi gear under, but am afraid it might be too big...

Super cool but BIG

By:

I wish I could have kept these but they run HUGE. I am 5'5" and about 125 and I was swimming in a small. I returned them but I wish they would have fit because I have only heard great stuff about Norrona products.
