I've been trying to find the optimal jacket for some time now. While I am a fan of some other brands and styles, the Norrona Narvik took the cake for me. Ultimately came down to the Narvik and the Lofoten (pro shell). The Narvik has a light backing in it which adds a touch of insulation which I'm a big fan of. The fit is a trimmer cut which I also really like. I have a few Arc'teryx pieces that I like as well, but in terms of a shell, the Narvik is a better form fit. I'm 5'11, 175lbs, and the medium is perfect. Someone complained about sleeve length, but I found them to be just fine (as opposed to too long as another review noted). The powder skirt and wrist gaiters add nice functionality and the hood is helmet compatible. Love the color options and dig the subtle pattern in the jacket.

Highly recommend the jacket and will continue to purchase Norrona products.

5' 10'', 208, wide shoulders and this jacket gives me room to move around! Ordered a large and its perfects. Length goes just past hip joint. Quality jacket; light, breaths well with vents, waterproof, zippers are solid, lycra thumbholes keep out any snow from sneaking in the cloves, hood fits over a helmet, and for a shell helps keep you warm. Can fit a mid-level down jacket under on cold days in the backcountry or on the mountain. Only complaint is it is tight on the hips as another review states, but its not a big issue for me (34 waist). This jacket is awesome!!! Blue color has gotten a lot of compliments. It is nice to have something different than everyone else, as everyone seems hell bent on Patagoochie and Spyder on the slopes. You will not be disappointed with this jacket or brand.

I picked up this jacket and the Narvik 3L pro shell to compare. This is a very nicely made jacket if the fit is right for you. I'm mainly using the jacket for in-bounds skiing but looking for it to have the versatility to use in other parts of the year. I'm 6'1" about 205lbs. Chest measures 43.5 and waist size for jeans is usually 35 or 36. I ordered the Waterfall Blue in an XL and it fit pretty well. I couldn't go a size down because of the shoulder width/chest width of the jacket. My only grip with the fit was in the waist area it was still pretty slim and although it fit wasn't as free / comfortable as the Narvik 3L for me. Pics attached to get an idea of fit and look when worn (i've found it's been tough to figure that part out being there's not a ton of reviews or pics up yet for Norrona stuff).

Nice Jacket, Fit just a tad off for me

Can you compare the 3L and 2L? Is the 3L worth the extra price?

This is a very nicely made jacket, but the sizing is off for me. It is cut for slimmer folks. It looks very well made and the outer material looks to be pretty durable. Feature wise it is somewhat minimalist. Would be a great inbounds ski jacket if it fits.

Best way to do this is click "chat now" in the upper right. Ask the associate if you can order both L and XL, and return the one that doesn't fit, with free shipping. Backcountry far surpasses any other customer service. You pay for both up front, but you get to choose the right size, and return the other for free.
