Great tall, athletic fit

By:
July 13, 2010

Love this fleece. The cut is slim and athletic. I am 6'4", 170lbs, athletic build (broad shoulder and chest, thin stomach and waist), and the Large is perfect. Great in the chest and just enough room in the waist for another thin layer underneath. The fleece is Polartec Thermal Pro, which I find to provide excellent warmth and breathability. Sometimes the wrist/hand warmer extensions can get in the way, but not often. They can easily be tucked back out of the way, and are great to have when it's really cold.

Bold

Just got it. Awesome orange color. Very long in arms. Tight/snug in through the body. Longer than Arcteryx in arms and body. Primaloft is amazing at how something so thin makes you so hot. This thing fits under a shell super easily. Way, way more streamlined than my existing Delta SV-and it has a hood with the Delta does not have.

This is my first Norrona piece. I have about a dozen Arc pieces. I am still pissed that my Beta AR with XCR Gore Tex never kept out the rain, no matter how many times I "recharged" it with DWR. I am on my way to Norrona from now on. Way more stylish stuff, great quality, more innovative!

Gets noticed

By:
January 25, 2010

I have gotten all sorts of compliments on this fleece. Stands out as unique, especially with the European cut. Fits very well (I'm 6'2" 190lbs) and is very warm over a tshirt unless it is very windy and less than 30 degrees. Only negative is the wrist gaiters are sometimes awkward. Still, I'd rather have them then not have them. I'm ready for some more Norrona!

I got a large, I'm 6'1" and only 140 so pretty skinny. It is a little loose, I mean like an inch of my stomach, and long enough down to my zipper.

I have XL and it looks just as good with no base layers as it does with two layers underneath. (6'2" 190lbs)

Based on my experience with this jacket, the L would be the right size to fit someone 6'2" 190lbs.

Great Fleece Perfect Fit

By:
November 5, 2009

I have now spent months looking for a good fleece. I'm a skinny guy (5'9" 155lb) and hate the look of really baggy clothing. I like things to fit. After hours spent trying on every brand I could find I gave Norrona a try. I could not be more pleased. Seriously, this fleece is perfect for what I was looking for: warm, good fit, generous hood, and lightweight. This has been great for every occasion so far and with a good shell easily thrown over (using the Golite Spectre) I am feeling up for anything. I took off one star as I'm not in love with the wrist gaiters. But, everything else is top notch.

This is my new company to watch and the apple of my gear lusting eye. From a materialistic sense I love when people ask me about the company as they have never heard of it - and not being just one more TNF guy on the block.

howdy, they probably won't be getting anymore in of this version due to the fact that norrona has a newer narvik fleece out already. these that are left are probably on the 40% off sale due to the fact that theyre trying to sell em quick before they get the new product.

here's the link to norrona's page with the new 2010 edition:

My favorite fleece!

By:
May 6, 2010

Nice and high collar with a chin guard to protect your chin from grazing the zipper. Nice and long arms and body and a tailored fit. I'm 6'1 and 183lbs, M fit me great, although could have gone an L if I wanted a more relaxed fit. Love the thumb holes for those cold mornings and nights.

Got the Olympian blue color and it is bold- great contrast to the dreary grey, black and white color palate of Melbourne!

Very Impressed

By: Backcountry.com Employee
January 28, 2010

Fit: Spot on. I am 6'3", 200lbs with a 34" waist and 43" chest. That puts me between a L and XL according to the sizing chart. I went with a L. This thing is not baggy, but not too tight either. I have a long torso and long arms and am happy with the length in both. It would be a little snug to wear anything more than a tshirt or base layer under this. The hood fits great too, I haven't tried it over a helmet, but don't plan too ever use this like that.

Style: Love it.

Quality: Excellent quality, seems very durable. Love all the features (pockets, wrist gaitors, hood, etc.).

Functionality: Since its pretty thick, I don't use this during high aerobic activities. Its great to wear round town, sitting by the campfire or as a layering piece on super cold days. I have mostly used it as an outer layer though since it is super thick and warm.

Overall: There is nothing I don't like about this fleece. It is the nicest, thickest and warmest fleece I have ever owned. This will not be my last Norrona purchase. HIGHLY Recommended.

Hi, I'm 6'3" and about 190lbs...Also long in the torso, can somebody please recommend what size I should go for in this jacket - L or XL. One of the most important things for me is the waist length of a jacket - hate the short waist!!

All help greatly appreciated!

Great Fleece

By:
March 6, 2010

This jacket is made from Polartec Pro (not Polartec Classic) and makes a great insulating layer under a shell. Slim cut with ample sleeve and torso length. Super soft and comfortable; women can't keep their hands off of it. If you've got a girl in the house you'll have to lock it up or she'll be wearing it. Coldest I've tested it at so far is minus 20 C, under an uninsulated shell and over a silk weight thermal; it was extremely comfortable with this combination at this temp.

Nice details! The cuff/hand covers really make it versatile. I don't use the hood that much but the fit that the hood creates around the neck really helps keep the heat in. Sturdy and well made.

Very good. Period.

By:
November 3, 2009

I have no idea why some some other reviewer gave this only two stars. What is not to like about this fleece? It has a very good cut, some nice details (wrist gaiters) and it is warm. But be ware: this is not a fleece to wear when doing high intensity activities. It is far too warm for that. However, it is a really nice for everything else. I will by another one!

Very good looking but...

By:
August 15, 2009

The good--- it's a great color (red), fleece is nice, LOVE the wrist gaiters. The bad--- I usually wear a large... this in the XL was snug around the hips. Just fit oddly and sadly, will be returned. I have a Norrona soft shell where this is not a problem. If you're extremely slim fitting, this should work.

Nice fleece

By:
March 24, 2010

Very nice jacket. Looks well made.
I'm 5'10" and 155 lbs and I got a large.

Good things:
Nice long arms.
Covers your neck and chin.
Should be nice and warm.
Looks great!

Bad things:
The torso seems a little short.
I'm scarred to wash it because it I don't want it to shrink.
Extra large would probably get too long of arms and look too big.

It fits perfectly (good arm length, not too tight or baggy) except the torso doesn't go down very far.

My Narvik-jacket has been in daily use more or less since 2002, and it is still in great shape.

Great fit means you can easily wear it as a mid layer on cold days.

It's an ok light weight fleece jacket. I wear a medium and the body fit is good; the sleeves fit abit tighter than I would like. Product is made in China.
