Fjora on.

Spin the pedals in Norrøna's Fjora Men's Short and features like articulated knees, zipped-thigh ventilation, and a wide waist band will keep you cool and comfortable. Stretch panels provide excellent freedom of moment, and the cut's generous enough to allow layering with your bums favorite saddle-sore defending chamois.

For the Ladies Too

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I'm a big fan of Norrona in the winter and I'm ridiculously picky about the fit of MTB shorts in the summer as I have a difficult time finding ones that fit my thighs (avg size 10-12 in jeans) and have the right combinations of stretch, pockets, and fit.
I decided to try these out. I'm in love!
I went with the size M and they fit well, the stretch panels and pockets are awesome and I love that they have BOTH Velcro tabs and belt loops at the waist. Only thing I didn't love was the color-blocked zipper on the green shorts (Look at my junk!!) so I went with the dark gray.

I'm so sad we didn't bring in the women's mtb line from Norrona, thanks for this review, Kelly!
I may have to see if these work for me too.

I think the women's line (at least Fjora) isn't being released until next year? I have the Fjora Light short as well. They run a little bit looser and the fabric is lighter and probably cooler.

Norr?na Fjora Short

  • Fit: Runs small

I like Norrona and I'm always blown away by the quality. So I gave it a shot even with this price. They fit fine (European size and rather order 1 size bigger) and are a great piece to wear BUT ... I might return it because the pics and the actual colors etc do not really match to good.
$127 is quite a price so I think quality-wise it's a great piece but just to flashy for me.

Norrna colourways are always flashy. Have 3 pairs now. Favourite pedalling short going

For being the exclusive US retailer for Norrona products, BC. com has a ridiculously poor selection of size and color. This goes for most all the Norrona products carried. I love Norrona but what's the issue with the supply line? There are several items I would like to order.

Best Answer Responded on

I know, it's somewhat mind-blowing. If you check you their website http://www.norrona.com/Concepts you'll find so much more colors, in-between functional clothing but not on here. Maybe it's just "what's left over" after Europe bought if off the market.

i am looking to purchase fjora mtn mike shorts . my waist size is between 36 - 37 inches. what size do i need?

Responded on

According to the size chart (click that little ruler icon underneath the size boxes) you would need a size Large. In my experience Norrona does run fairly true to size, sometimes a bit on the long and lean side.

I have 36" and ordered XL, fits fine, but I might return it because the pics and the actual colors etc do not really want me to keep it. $127 is quite a price so I think quality wise it's a great piece but just to flashy for me.

I have a size 32 waist and I am 6' tall. What is the right size in the Fjora short?

Thanks,

Max.

Responded on

If you have a true 32" waist, you'll want the size small shorts. The height doesn't matter much for these, only the waist since they're shorts.

Good things come in 3s

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Bought a pair of the green Fjora shorts last season. Like the longer length to them while still being slim yet able to take a POC knee pad underneath without an issue other than having to open the vent zip to slide the short over the kneecap. Higher waist at the back prevents plumbers crack exposure, and a shorter length crotch keeps from catching the nose on the saddle compared to other shorts.

FYI, I now own all three colours in size small. Previous go to shorts were Sombrio Pinners

Awesome Short

Haven't used these for cycling but have hiked in them and wore them casually around town for a couple of weeks. Super awesome... love the vents on the sides. These shorts rock. I think they are much more versatile than "the recommended use" just being for cycling. I do plan on using them for mountain biking as well but would buy them just to wear casually and to hike or backpack. Good short if you want something a little longer and more burly than a traditional board short. Wear them a bit more fitted or unzip the sides if you want them to be more vented for airflow and a bit looser fit.

Hey, it lists the inseam for this as 30" which doesn't really seem possible unless you're a giraffe? But it seems to short if it's supposed to be cm. Anybody have a tape measure? Thanks!

Responded on

Backcountry.com has the wrong specs? Never! Size large has a 16" inseam. Also, there are four pockets and not two (two hand, one rear, and one front cargo).

Marty,
Thanks for your question. We are sold out of the Norrona Fjora short and will most likely not be receiving any additional stock until next Spring. I hope this is helpful for you and enjoy your season.

Would this be a good short for trekking and climbing or is it just for cycling?

thefiverog902224,
Thanks for your question. While the Fjora short could be a good multipurpose short, it's main purpose is mountain biking. Check out the Bitihorn Lightweight short. This is also a great multipurpose short option from Norrona. I hope this is helpful for you.
