Low-bulk warmth for chilly pursuits.
Perfect for light-and-fast missions in cool to downright freezing conditions, the Norrøna Men's Falketind PrimaLoft100 Insulated Hooded Jacket provides lightweight, low-bulk warmth that's great as a standalone piece in drier weather or layered under a waterproof/breathable shell on the slopes. This Backcountry.com exclusive jacket features 100-gram PrimaLoft Silver insulation for an extremely high warmth-to-weight ratio with its heat-trapping synthetic fibers that mimic the best properties of down, all without losing heat-trapping loft in wet conditions. In fact, you'll find this jacket retains toasty warmth in widely varying weather conditions, regardless of whether it's dumping snow, drizzling, or spitting sleet outside.
Polartec Power Stretch cuffs provide a secure, stay-put fit around your wrists when you're moving quickly on the mountain. The one-hand adjustable hood adds extra protection in nasty weather and brisk alpine breezes. Other key features include harness-compatible zippered hand pockets for accessing small accessories with a climbing harness on, as well as a built-in stuff sack that's ideal for traveling and storing it away for the season.

- Q & A
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: Runs large
Great feeling jacket with soft fabric lining around the sleeve cuffs, but the Large was just a little long in the sleeves so that they bunched up and the body was a little bigger than I like my insulating layers, particularly for layering. I can't say if it is better than a medium since I didn't try a medium, but it seems to run large.
***Makes me choose a rating, but I never actually used it. First impression is good.
