For a trek into the woods, put on the Norrøna Bitihorn Lightweight Short and strap into your backpack. These breathable shorts fit with your pack and stay on your waist thanks to the side hook-and-loop straps. The long legs protect your knees while scrambling up sharp boulders, and a stash pocket keeps your most valuable items from falling off the side of the mountain.

Tight in the Butt

By:

I would love these if my butt weren't bubbalicious. They will be great after I lose a little trunk space.

We will not have these back in stock until next spring. ETA date for the order is 3/15, but I would count on them being late.

Great Shorts

By:
May 16, 2011

I don't review often, but I have to say, these shorts are legit. Due to my love for this product, I now own two pairs of these shorts (one of each color). I am about 5 feet 11 inches and weigh approximately 170 lbs. The mediums fit like a glove and they're extremely tough. I would say they're perfect for backpacking, swimming, biking, or whatever outside activity you choose. I was a big fan of the Prana Zion short, but due to the style change this year, these are my new go to shorts.

I'm a 34 inch waist. I have ordered skiing pants from Norrona in the past. The M was a little too snug and the L had the desired relaxed fit. What size should I wear? The sizing chart on this brand is crazy!

Based on other reviewers description of the Fit of these, your experience with them and my own experience with norrona, I would go with a L. If it doesnt work out or you need a size swap, the backcountry guarantee and service make it easy. Good luck!

THe best I've tried

By:

Paid full price, and consider the quality in-line with the $80 ticket. I'd say they are exceed arc'teryx in stitching and general quality. The fit far exceeds any of the synthetic shorts I own. I never buy 100% nylon in a casual fit, as they always end up being thigh-huggers. These do not hug the thigh at all, unlike the arc'teryx ramparts, et al.

The blue-contrasting zippers and logo look great. Zippers are of very high quality. The inside belt is attached with velcro and works perfectly; there are belt loops, but you won't need 'em.

If you're interested in the look but shy from 100% nylon... don't. You will love these.

Feels true to size. I am 6'2", 37" waist and am wearing the XLs.

Hey! I am also a size 34 (actually a 33 waist line when measured) and the L is the best fit. The size chart suggested an M though, but after having a chat with one of the gear guys I changed my order to an L. The shorts came about 3 days ago and the L fits really comfortably. I just pulled the waist tabs in a bit and do not need a belt at all. They also have enough room incase i have to squat down to pick something up or so on. The M would have been way too small. I am 5,9 and 198lbs. Hope this helps?

Considering how yours fit you, do you think a large would fit a 34in waist? I was going to buy a large, but the size chart says I should buy a medium, which doesn't seem right. I'm 6'3 200. Thanks!

Norrona's size chart shows 44 chest corresponding to a 41"

Norrona's size chart shows 44 chest corresponding to a 41" waist. I am a 48" chest, 38" waist (220, 6'2"). What size would I order?

Thanks Ratherbe. I got the XL in both colors and they're fantastic. I am really closer to 37" and they're a perfect fit. I am normally hesitant to buy 100% nylon, but they don't hug the thigh at all.

I'm almost the same size as you, and have tried both L and XL in Norrona. They are European fit, so if your legs are slim L might work. XL may be somewhat big in the waist, but perhaps a better fit elsewhere. I wasn't able to keep the Norrona pants since I am right betweeen L and XL. I did keep a Norrona softshell, and went for an XL; I would never have been be able to get the L on. Great products otherwise.

Every day in summer

By:
August 25, 2010

Used these shorts pretty much every day this summer. Very comfortable, I like the hip adjustment with Velcro. And I do like the pockets placement similar to Norrona's skiing pants.

Spent one week hiking in the Dolomites with these. Perfect pockets, map in left cargo pocket and Iphone/Android phone in the internal pocket in right cargo pocket.
