Best Pant To Date

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

The feel, function, fit and materials make this pant a great one. Had it out for a test run in the Sierras. Climbed Lamont and Sawtooth (s) about 18 -20 miles, 5000 gain. 11h 43 minutes and had no uncomfortable feelings at all. Love the material and design.

Only suggestion is to add a zip off gaiter at the hems. The hem can be more (bottom of pant legs) could be more solid and better forming.

Otherwise I would buy again and again.

Radical pants

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I use these pants for year-round climbing and ski touring in the spring. They are the best pants of their kind I've ever had.

They have the best fit of any hiking pants I've ever worn. I am 5'9", 32in waist, pretty lean, but with big legs. They fit just right everywhere. I like that the legs are cut closer than a lot of hiking pants. They aren't tight but they're not baggy and flappy either.

They are extremely durable, and have gone through many offwidth and chimney climbs without getting torn up. They breathe well, bead water fairly well, and are comfortable.

I hope Norrona keeps making them.

Best all-around pant

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is one of the best all around pants for hiking and skiing. The pants are quite light making them great for hiking. The two front hand pockets are just the right depth and one zip thigh pocket and zip back pocket are very functional. Note the online description does not mention the back pocket that mine has. They are very water repellent and have a good stretch making them awesome for skiing. For colder weather you would likely want to wear an underlayer, but really good for more strenuous outdoor winter activities like back country skiing. The pant is super comfortable. It makes a good travel pant and I wear it a lot just bumming around town. I also own the Norrona Flex 1 pant which I prefer for colder activities.
