    Loved but had to return

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large

I wanted so badly to keep these pants: comfortable from the knee up, material that felt lightweight but strong enough to stand up to rocks and brush on the trail, tons of convenient pockets, adjustable waist tabs and a slightly higher rise than the Falketind pants, etc. If you have average-to-slender calves, these pants might work brilliantly for you, but for a gal with muscular (read: big) calves, they're just too tight in the lower leg. They fit--barely--but were uncomfortably tight in a way that made made the pants feel awkward as I walked. I would have had to keep the lower zips unzipped all the time, which looked and felt weird (and left the velcro tab at the cuff hanging awkwardly).

I also would have preferred just a wee bit more stretch for high-stepping and scrambling, but it was the tight calves that were the deal-breaker. If Norrona ever makes a straight(er)-leg version of these pants, I'll be all over them!
