Not durable

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I have had this jacket for 6 months now and tested it in wet PNW. The fit it great, slim. I'm 5'2'' 115 lb and xs fits me well I can even fit layers underneath. My biggest complaint is that it soaks up water. The water beads off at first but in very rainy weather the jacket becomes wet on the outside very easily and quickly. The water does not panatrate but it makes you feel cold. I have compared this gortex to gortex in my ski pants made by arcteryx and this jacket is much worse. It's also hard to clean. It's nice light jacket but for the money I would expect something with better performance.

does it fit a helmet?

Looks like the Bitihorn storm hood is not helmet compatible, it fits kind of snug to your head. The Trollveggen series storm hood is made to accommodate a helmet.

just wanted to add, i just got my jacket and although the hood is not advertised as helmet compatible it does fit over a helmet. i tried it with BD half dome helmet and it's a bit tight when you zip it up the whole way, but you can totally use your hood with a helmet if you are belaying or don't have to make strenuous moves.

How does the fit of this jacket compare to the falketind. I found the falketind to be a bit short and boxy but I loved the jacket. I am looking for something comparable.

The fit will be really similar. The Falketind is more durable but, it does add some more weight to the jacket.

Love it!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I use this jacket for trail running. It is quite light yet still has underarm zippers! For varying conditions, it performs. On a run, I can go from drizzle to pouring rain to snow and it handles all the conditions. Really pleased with its performance.
