Give wet weather the third degree.
Light, breathable, and waterproof, the Norrona Men's Bitihorn Dri3 Jacket will combat wet weather when you're hiking, trail running, or backpacking. Fully taped seams and a three-layer shell combine to stop water dead in its tracks, while a breathable membrane and zippered underarm vents dump excess heat quick. A quick pull of the cinch cord allows you to adjust the hood to keep winds off your face while you survey the trail ahead, and the zippered handwarmer pockets give your digits a place to cozy up before you hit the trail again.

Great Jacket overall but long in sleeves
- Familiarity:I've used it several times
- Size Bought: Medium
This jacket is incredibly versatile, waterproof and windproof. I wore this on a hike with high winds at the top and on/off light/medium rain showers. All I had on was this and a medium-fleece. This jacket is definitely waterproof and windproof. Only gripe is the sleeve length is extremely long.
I'm 5'11", 195 with a 41 chest. a Medium fit perfectly with room enough for a light-medium layer. however the sleeve length goes to almost my fingertips. I'm keeping this jacket but just wish I can do something about the sleeve length besides rolling it up/tighten the wrist velcros..
I'm trying to decide between the Bitihorn Dri1 and Bitihorn Dri3 as a go-to, all around rain shell. The Dri1 is lighter but at how much sacrifice to durability (at least as compared to the Dri3). There is a big overlap at the activities they target so it seems like the only practical difference is where you prefer your pockets (and a couple hundred grams). Any thoughts are appreciated.
This is what I know:
Dri3 is a 3 layer jacket, Dri1 is a 2.5 layer jacket. The main difference between the two is durability (and cost). The 2.5 layer eliminates the inner layer and is replaced by a printed or sprayed layer (outer layer may be the same on both).
I know people who do the entire Pacific Crest Trail with 2.5L jacket.
How much longer does a 3 layer jacket last, that I don't know.
