- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
This is a great pant - like all Norrona gear. I also have the Svalbard cotton hiking pant which which I like a bit more (that's a 5+!) but these are still great. The sizing, like others note, is hard to figure out. For me, I have to go with a medium, and I am 6'3", 175lb, 33" waist. The legs were slightly short for me, but I liked them so much I just took out the hem and re-sewed. The logos on the pants are cool. It has a back zip pocket, and two regular front pockets. There is also a zip thigh pocket on the left side. It is located a little further toward the hamstring than most "thigh" pockets. But great all around. This feels more like a typical denim pant than the Svalbard cotton. The legs are sewn in an amazing form shape for the bent knee that I have only seen in Norrona pants. I've worn this a lot and it is not showing much wear at all - so worth the extra $$. My very minor complaint with these pants, at least in the "space" color, is that they show dirt and grime a bit more than I would like. But hey - great pant all the way around if you can get your fit.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
So I just got the mediums in the mail and wore them around yesterday. Comparatively to the small which I would normally buy the medium was just a little to big/baggy for me. I washed them in hot water last night and dried them on high heat and they shrunk a little bit around the waist and thighs. I still think they are a little baggier then I would normally buy, but I love these pants so I am going to keep them around for awhile and see what my impressions are a few months from now. Initially though I like the design and I like the feel of the material. I am about 155 5'10" and have about a 31.75-32 inch waist. I buy most of my pants in a 30-31 inch waist and they usually fit the best (not to tight and not too baggy). The smalls in this which states it would be in the 31 range was definitely too tight, could not even get the button buckled comfortably. So I sized up to the medium which is has a substantially larger waist, but their sizing is not as specific as other makes. I hope this information helps others out.
Sizing is not very accurate beware
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: Runs small
I usually wear a size 30 and purchased these in the small per the sizing chart. According to the sizing chart I should have had some extra inches. When I put them on way to small more like a true 30. I would suggest sizing up to a size larger if you usually purchase size 30s like myself. I hope my lesson will save yall some shipping money and time. When I get my replacement I will update this and let you know how the mediums fit.
