Power up for pow and hardpack.

Nobody likes being pigeonholed, but ski manufacturers tend to make skis that cater to pretty specific styles, so even if you're an aggressive skier it's easy to find yourself jammed into the "all-mountain," "powder," or "freeride" category. Trouble is, that's not really how life, or winter, works. Mother Nature serves up a mixed plate of conditions, and even pow-hunting freeriders like to rip hardpack every now and then, so an aggressive, powerful, and supremely versatile board like the Nordica NRGy 107 Ski isn't just a key part of a quiver, it could well be the board that sends all your others to the storage room.

Nordica built the NRGy 107 with the guts of a frontside ripper but gave it a shape more befitting a backside pow ski. Most obvious is the Titanal Torsion Bridge, a metal laminate with triangular cutouts that boosts the ski's torsional stiffness and edging power for an unbeatably smooth ride and powerful edging. The ABS sidewalls take all that energy and direct it down into the steel edges, the the ski's underfoot camber provides tons of stability at speed and edge bite on hardpack, so you can rally grooomers or chalky snow at teeth-chattering speeds.

Inside, things get even better. The NRGy is built on Nordica's I-Core Ti wood core, which gives it a solid but surprisingly playful feel, so you can shred January fluff without feeling like you're on a lumbering, one-dimensional frontside board. The wide, moderately rockered tip helps you plane up and over the soft stuff so you don't have to worry about burying a tip and going over the bars, and the raised and tapered tail allows you to slash turns and get loose like you're on an honest-to-goodness pow ski, but without the terror of back-to-the-lift hardpack turns.
