NRGy 100 Ski

A while back, with the advent of dedicated power skis and race-bred frontside rippers,  "all-mountain" became a way to describe a ski that was just a 'tweener—not big enough to excel in the deep, and not aggressive enough to do well on hardpack. Thankfully, times and technologies change, and today all-mountain skis like Nordica's NRGy 100 are seriously sick chargers, not boards that don't really do anything well. With its All-Mountain CamRock profile—traditional camber underfoot and a rockered tip--the NRGy doesn't just tolerate variable conditions. Instead, it crushes hardpack with ABS sidewalls, a Torsion Bridge Titanal laminate, and rubber-dampened steel edges, and floats through powder with a light and lively I-Core wood core and a tapered tail that makes it easy to pivot and surf.

The Torsion Bridge isn't just your usual sheet of metal, though. It's been machined to keep weight down while directing powder to the edges without affecting the ski's fore-aft flex, and works with four (count 'em) prepreg laminates to help the NRGy stand up to aggressive skiing in tough terrain. With the tapered tail, you can make any sort of turn shape you want, while the rockered tip planes over chunder and deep snow for a smooth all-condition ride. Throw in a speedy sintered UHMW base, and get ready to see why all-mountain no longer means what it used to.
