When a promotion is on the way and you want to plan ahead, get yourself the Nixon Men's Private SS Watch. I have an obsession with nixon watches. I own several different ones. while this one is not as fancy as some of the others it is very nice. reasonable price for a nixon as well.

im trying to decide on a color and i am leaning towards the matte black/gold but i was curious if anyone knew if this color scheme made the watch look cheap or plastic like? thanks for the help

If I were you I would go with the all black one or the black one.

I want to get a black watch but I am afraid of the black scratching and showing the metal below. Does the black paint chip at all?

I've had the Private with the nylon band in Black for almost two years, and as long as you don't bash it against every doorway you walk through, it should be fine. Mine still looks great, because the carbide coatings Nixon uses on their pieces tends to hold up pretty well.

What is the case diameter and if possible its thickness? Would it look too big on a skinny wrist? Thanks

Hey Sebastian, this watch is 42mm across - so it's large, but by no means huge. Nice versatile size that isn't too subtle, but isn't too attention-grabbing either. I have pretty skinny wrists, and it looks great on mine - you'll just probably have to have a jeweler remove a link or two for you.

This watch is flawless. I was worried that the face would be too small, but it's just right. I have big wrists so I added the two extra links. I went with the all black and I'm really happy with it - another review said it looks like plastic but I disagree. The dished out face will save your mineral crystal from getting beat to hell. The design is simplistic, but it shows true style through it's flawless execution. If I could request an upgrade for this watch in future models I'd put a saphire crystal face on it and a backlight. This watch should belong to any true Nixon street or snow soldier.

Seriously, I've had the gunmetal/blue for several months now and I still stare at the thing in awe. It's perfectly designed and crafted. I bought mine in a store for ten bucks more than here, and now that I've found this site I'm seriously considering buying the same watch in another color.

I've been rocking this watch for about a year now and love it. It's lower on the Nixon totem pole of hot watches, but I dig it. I originally bought the 51-30, but it was so big that it was making my muscles on my left are significantly larger simply from having to carry the weight of the 51-30. After looking around a bit more, I settled on the all black Private SS. It's the perfect happy medium as far as size goes...it's not too big and not too small. I recommend.

this watch is the best i have had so many people come up and ask to have it. i have also had people come up and ask if it costs between 400 and 500 dollars...bottom line the watch is thug, and its a nixon!

Bought it in all black. Good quality, but the all black looks more of like a plastic watch, and sound same. Should have taken another color like gunmetal. Apart from that good watch.

A chick could definitely rock this. You would need to adjust the wrist band. The only concern is if she has a very petite build the face may be bigger than her wrist.

The face on that is between 34-41 mm if that helps in your decision making.

a chick should TOTALLY run this watch .... it has a smaller face compared to other men's nixon pieces, and would fit a girl great! do it, she'll love it.
