    Disappointed Nixon watch

Not happy. Watch I received today is not working? And I now I don't know what to day and you don't have any in stock? I hope you can fix this watch. It's not keeping time or chronograph is not working as well. I think it's a battery issue.... I shouldn't have to go through this opening it straight from the box! Not happy at all to spend $400 and now have to wait around and waste my time and money!

      Sweet

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

As far as dual-purpose watches go, this one is up with the best of them. This watch not only tells time, but it also is a serious chick magnet. Be careful when you bust this one out to go to any weddings this summer. With great power, comes great responsibility.

      WAY TOO BIG

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Fit: True to size

I've had Nixon watches in the past and have loved them. I was excited to get this one, but was shocked by the sheer size and weight of it! I am 6'1 and 260lbs and this watch makes me look like Flav a Flave. It's like having a giant, 4 pound clock on your wrist. Hoping to browse some more and find something a little less gigantic.

      Super Stoked

This is my second Nixon 51-30 chrono, and not because the first one failed but because the first one was amazing and I wanted to add another with a different color to my Nixon watch collection. Nixon never ceases to amaze me with the quality of their watches and this one knocks it out of the park. It's big and bold but that is what I like about it. I've put my 51-30 to the test, everything from the office to the slopes, the field to the mud holes and it still looks as good as it did from day one.

      Treat yo self.

I own four Nixon watches and have been waiting to purchase this one forr awhile. Bought it as kind of graduation present to myself, and could not be happier.

Decided on the dark tortoise after much contemplation, and I dig it.

I've received compliments every time I wear it.

It is a tank though, by far the heaviest watch I own.

      Best Deal i've found on a 51-30

I am a huge Nixon fan, I have 7. I have been wanting a 51-30 chrono for a while, but looking for a deal. As soon as I saw the deal at almost half off I bought it. Quick shipping and a great value. Great site. Thanks

Hello, ive got a question about the white/silver one.

Is it true that the paint chips off at some point? And if it does, wouldnt the look of the watch be terrible? Why not make it permanently? Not all of ous want to buy the expensive ceramic.

I've slammed and scraped mine plenty of times against just about every type of building material. It's still solid black with no major traces of damage to the finish. My only complaint is that the matte black hands are not visible in low light. Love my watch but would trade it in a heartbeat for the gunmetal finish.

      Hi there,

I would like to buy this watch for my brother. He will be wearing the watch on his left arm - just wondering whether the dials get annoying being on the left side of the watch face.

Do they dig into your arm?

Why does the photo of the all black 51-30 only have 2 of the push buttons shown which operate the chronograph? I'm assuming this is an error?

Write your question here...This particular NIXON has me concerned - I only see two buttons on the right side rather than three as shown in all of the other Chronographs. I like the black face white hands black case black bracelet set up BUT am wondering about the functions - my current collection of Chrono's all have a reset button, a start stop button and a watch set / wind stem but this image is different. Info / explanation will be appreciated.

While I'm not totally sure on the origin of that photograph, even the older Nixon chronos should still have three buttons - the top being the reset. Order with confidence, and if you're not totally stoked on what you receive, you can always return it for a full refund. DF has your back!

This might sound stupid but I was woundering why the function knobs are on the left side of the watch??

      Best Answer

Actually, the knobs are on the left because this is a true, dive/surf-style watch. And when you're wearing a wetsuit, rather than run the risk of the neoprene bunching up on certain wrist movements and accidentally twisting the crown knob (exposing the inner guts of the watch to seawater), or inadvertently stopping the chrono (very bad if you're measuring ascent time, or time underwater), everything is on the left side of the watch. Harder to set, but much safer to use while diving or surfing in the long run.

Write your question here...I have a large wrist, how large is the band? I need a band that is 9".

My wrist measures slightly larger than 9". You will need the extra link provided AND at least 1 more link (I would suggest 2) to be ordered from NIXON.

I know this because I just had my gunship 51-30 fitted today. using the extra link it comes with makes it wearable, but not loose or even comfortable. I'm thinking for comfort - 1 more link - for the way i like it (loose) 2 more links.

I'm thinking about buying this in stainless/black.

Will there be any problems shipping to Stockholm, Sweden? I'm thinking like a lot of duty tax (can you ship it as a gift?) and stuff like that.
The watch costs equivalent to 840$ in Sweden which is just ridiculous so I would really like to buy it from you guys.

Damn it, I got my answer a bit further down the page...with "right now" do you mean that you used to be able to ship outside the US? Why can't you do it at the moment?
As I mentioned earlier the prices on this watch in Sweden are just silly, more than twice of what it is in the US, so any help regarding getting this from somewhere else is appreciated.
