When you have bigger feet and love dropping big cliffs, ripping down sketchy steeps, and squeezing through narrow couloirs, turn to the Nitro Magnum Wide Snowboard. Built for bigger guys who shred hard, this freeride monster features Roofchop camber this year for a powerful ride with a forgiving feel.

Roof Chop camber is similar to traditional camber, but features a flat section in the middle instead of a continuous curve, giving it all the pop of regular camber with a less grabby, more forgiving feel. A directional shape gives you more control at high speeds and helps you keep your nose up in powder.

The Powerlite core uses ultra-lightweight poplar for an unmatched strength-to-weight ratio, and Bi-Lite laminates ensure a consistent flex for smooth, predictable turns. The wide waist improves float for heavier riders and prevents toe drag for those with big boots. It's all finished off with a durable Speed Formula HD sintered base to keep you flying across slow spots even when you forget to wax it for a couple days.

    • Roof Chop Camber profile (low positive camber, flattened center zone)
    • Directional shape
    • Stiff flex
    • Powerlite core with Reflex profiling
    • Bi-Lite laminate (biax glass)
    • Progressive sidecuts
    • Sintered Speed Formula HD base

    Best board I've ever owned

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got the magnum a few years ago from my ex as a Christmas present. Super happy she didn't want it back after we didn't work out.
I'm 6'2 and weigh about 280. I paired the board with a pair of Bent Metal Venom bindings.
The terrain has mostly been east coast granular ice and nasty stuff like that. With a fresh edging the board cut through some pretty nasty stuff. Rode that for two seasons. I moved out to the west coast last year. This is where the board really shown its strength. Dropping in on some fresh courderoy or going off trail into the glades, the board responded with precision. I never felt out of control even at high speeds. Kept speed on the flats which are the bane of my existence.
If you're a bigger guy this is your board. Pair it with a stiff pair of bindings and tame that pow.

would this be a good board for a beginner or not so much?
