Pass the line through, loop it over, pull it tight, clip it in ... done.

The days of attempt after attempt to get sufficient tension on your tent guy lines are gone with the Nite Ize Figure 9 Tent Line Kit. Four lightweight plastic rope tighteners utilize a simple loop, pull, and clip technique to secure your tent for the worst conditions. The eight foot guy lines have reflective accents to assist in pitching your tent at night and increase visibility of the lines.

Figure 9's holding up tarp

Figure 9's holding up tarp

Though you can't really see it this tarp is being held up by the figure 9 tighteners and it got pretty windy and rained for quite a while but I never had to tighten them after I set it up

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are great for quickly setting up a tarp. They are easy to use and do not require much know how to set up. They hold the lines tightly and even in wind and rain do not let go. I was able to set up my tarp quickly before it started raining by myself with these. Setting up the tarp took the least amount of time and I am sure if I has used knots I would have gotten rained on.

These are simple to use and very light and small. Tents never come with enough guylines and these are great. 8ft is plenty of cord and the rope tightners really work, I have never seen them slip. The uses for these go way beyond tent lines, any time you need to keep a cord tight.

Secure, Adjustable, Easy and Fast

I'm a fan of tying my own knots, but an adjustable tensioning knot like the taught-line hitch simply slips on nylon ropes. Knots that don't slip at all are not very friendly to adjust.

I use these for making a shelter over my hammock and to make a tarp shelter on the ground with my trekking poles. They are quick, easy, highly adjustable and hold extremely well. I also like the reflective lines they come with.
