At a sizeable138/109/128mm, the Ninthward THA 187 has one thing on its mind—gunning down powder. Built unlike any other fat ski on the market, THA 187 incorporates a two-inch carbon runner into a super-light tri-laminate poplar core, to create a light ski with consistent, big-mountain flex. Ninthward knows that billy-goating sketchy lines and landing big airs blind takes its toll on big boards, so they slapped a super-thick, ding-resistant Durasurf 4000 base and 13mm-thick ABS sidewalls onto THA 187. Further reinforcement includes a layered fiberglass ollie-pad mounting plate, and the knowledge that this ski won the ‘07 Freeski Nationals at Snowbird, and the Vegitate comp at Mt. Hood.

Bottom Line: Ninthward's THA 187 is big, tough and built to last.

I wouldn't buy these if groomers are your main surface. Look for something shorter, and also narrower at the waist.

They float, they turn, they stomp and they straight-line.

It's only been five or six days so far, but the THA is awesome! It destroys crud and pops effortlessly.

Slap on a pair of Duke's and you have the ultimate slackcountry/resort set-up for Pow and Crud.
