Nikwax Polarproof adds durable water repellency (DWR) to fleece and insulated garments. Nikwax Polarproof adds surface water-repellency which reduces water-absorption, minimizes weight gains, and maintains insulating properties. Nikwax Polarproof lasts several washings and does not need to be reapplied after every wash like other treatments. Even though synthetic insulating fibers naturally absorb little moisture they can hold substantial liquid within the structure of the knit or weave. This significantly reduces the thermal insulating qualities of the garment. With proper cleaning and the addition of Nikwax Polarproof you can improve the performance of your insulated clothing-especially in wet or humid conditions.

Bottom Line: Polarproof is an easy-to-use wash-in treatment for your fleece and insulating garments.

Nikwax Polarproof

This stuff is great. I used it on my marmot warmlight jacket. It's fantastic to see water bead off a fleece jacket. It doesn't bead as much as other nikwax products but you can't expect it on a fleece jacket. And it makes the ol' fleece dry a heck of a lot faster.

How does the Polar Proof formula differ from the Glove Proof formula?
Would it have to deal with waterproof verse water resistant, or a matter of durability?

If you have a fleece glove (only fleece) it will make the gloves water resistant

Hi Peter!
Steve gave you a great answer. If you have a pair of fleece gloves, use the Polar Proof. Use Glove Proof for fabric or combination fabric and leather gloves. All the specific products Nikwax makes are designed to proof while maintaining the original look and feel of the garment. Thanks for your question. Stay dry!!

Polarproof is designed specifically for fleece fabric which is bundles of synthetic fibers, and polarproof sticks best to these fibers. Gloveproof is designed for nylon fabric and leather and will stick best to these materials.
