Keep your leather goods in top shape and performing at their best.

You love your leather gloves and boots, except when they get soaked through in a snowstorm or on a wet hike. Gloves, Boots, Hands, use it everywhere

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This stuff is amazing. Every time I get boots or gloves now, I make sure to apply this right out of the box. Helps keep the water out and really helps maintain the leather. After a quick wash and application of this wax, even an old pair of leather shoes can look nice and fresh again. Why not buy this to help you gear last longer? It's not an expensive addition when you consider how much you're paying for higher quality leather items.

A little extra protection

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Pretty much all Nikwax products are great. Haven't really met one that I didn't like yet. This one is no exception. Put some of these on your new leather gloves and really up their game. After a while of wear and tear reapply and extend their life a while. Doesn't affect breathability or dexterity or anything like that. Well worth the couple bucks. Your gloves will thank you.

Happy Gloves

Inexpensive and. easy to apply. This creme helps keep my hands dry and my Hestras happy. What else needs to be said?

Leather Life Saving Waterproofing

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Nothing better than using Nikwax for all my leather waterproofing. Just throw the item in the dryer on high for a few moments, no-tumble for boots. Rub the Nikwax in and allow to dry for at least 24 hours. It will darken light colors a bit.

do they still make the tin

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

does Nikwax still sell this product in a big tin?

Crucial

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I rock a bunch of different leather gloves and this treatment has made all the difference. It has boosted the waterpoofing and made them last way long than they should of. Definitely worth the money

Protect your Swag

Nikwax is an extremely effective product, and for only $8.50, it's a no brainer for prolonging the life of your gear. Treat your gear before using it, or the leather may start to stiffen up if it gets to wet.

Applying Nikwax is simple. The tube has a sponge on the end you can use to rub on the Nikwax and try to work it into the seams. I still found it easiest to use a finger and work it in that way. It washes off quickly.

Great product!

Does exactly what it says it will. Will be using this on all my leather products.
Great product.

Easy to apply!

Used on my La Sportiva Nepals. Water beads up nicely and rolls right off! It does darken the leather slightly, but I think my Nepals actually look better waxed! Doesn't smell terrible, and SUPER easy to apply. Just apply, and gently buff with a cloth. I gave mine a quick brushing, to help restore the slightly rough nap of the leather, and they are good to go!

I've got a pair of gloves that I can use...

I've got a pair of gloves that I can use this on but would like to us it on my boots as well but they're suede and nubuck. Can this product be used for suede and nubuck?

Best Answer Responded on

It will waterproof the suede, but it will darken it, and mat down the nap so it looks like leather instead of suede.

Anti-aging cream

Instantly made my 2-year old, dried up gloves look and feel young again... wish they could formulate this stuff for humans, I need some of that action!

Stuff Works

I've used this to waterproof a few different pairs of leather gloves. I was impressed with how easy it is to apply (just rub into the glove while wearing them, as if you were applying hand lotions). I was also impressed with how any water that came in contact with the glove would just bead up and roll off. A few points worth mentioning: Make sure you let them dry out after applying the creme. Work the wax it into the seems, especially the high wear areas of the glove like the inside of the thumb. Has worked when I've wet the leather of the glove prior and when I've just applied to a dry glove. All in all, a must have product if you have a leather glove.

A must have!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use this on all of my leather boots (at least the ones that I plan on getting in the muck with) and leather gloves. One tube lasts a long time, well worth the $8.50.

easy to use and works!

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The creme allows you to really get the protection where you need- little cracks and zones that a spray might miss.

Definitely no beading...

And actually still leaky. I can't really say this did anything to improve my shoes' water resistance. It just made them shiny.

Good Stuff!

Loving this stuff. Definitely recommended! It works great, not much else to say. I concur with all of the other positive reviews. Buy it, you'll like it! FYI, the 3.4 oz tube is more than it sounds like, it'll go a long way.

Works good

Used on Hestra gloves and my kid's hiking boots. Keep hands and feet dry pretty well. It does discolor white leather slightly but not a big deal for me personally.

Will this work on my Leather Saddle bags...

Will this work on my Leather Saddle bags on my Motorcycle? My gear always gets wet inside the bags and I can tell the water is absorbing right into the leather.

Best Answer Responded on

As long as the material is a smooth leather, this should work very well
To give you a heads up, this creme tends to darken the color of the leather.
Also, be sure to clean the saddle bags from dust and dirt before applying the creme, or else you will just waterproof the dust, dirt, and road grime on to your bags.
