Nike first introduced the Blazer as a basketball shoe in 1972 (didn't people still wear reed sandals back then?) and it's been through a lot to become the Zoom Blazer SB Premium SE Men's Skate Shoe. Somewhere along the line, it picked up a cushy EVA midsole and Nike Zoom cushioning system, and it also found a soft textile and suede upper and gusseted tongue for fit and comfort. When Nike stuck on a flexible rubber outsole for grip and board feel, well, the transformation was complete.
