Nidecker has been building snowboards since 1984, and the Ultralight UG Snowboard takes all of that experience and adds revolutionary construction techniques to give you a ride that cuts lines without hesitating. This directional-shaped all-mountain snowboard features a Wood Welding core that eliminates the use of un-ecological adhesives and maintains a super light weight. Nidecker added carbon and Kevlar to the Ultralight UG’s fiberglass composite, so your riding benefits from increased liveliness and dampening. Edge Armor gives your edges the ability to stand up to shred-mestic abuse, and a soft flex profile makes this board easy to press and bonk in the park.

Bottom Line: Weighing in at just 5.5 pounds, bets are that the Nidecker Ultralight UG Snowboard is the next champ.

Hi, got a question? Ask on the Product Wall.

someone said that this board is 5.1 pounds not 5.5, and that

someone said that this board is 5.1 pounds not 5.5, and that this board is lighter that the vapor..this is what they said: I would like to point out somthing for those of you being misled by the Burton marketing department: this is NOT, and has NEVER been the lightest snowbaord available.Since it's inception, the Elan Inverse has held that title (weight vs. length and weight vs. surface area were both better). Also, the Inverse came out first, not the Vapor. Last year's Inverse 159 weighed in at 5.5 pounds compared to the Vaopr 157 weighing 5.7 pounds.Second, there is a new champ. The Nidecker Ultralight 163 weighs in at 5.1 pounds. So the Ultralight is not only longer, but weighs less at the same time in coparison to both the Inverse and the Vapor. Also, the Inverse and the Ultralight are cheaper. The Vapor is not worth $1000, so watch and wait for them to pop up for $600 on WhiskeyMilita.com near the end of the season if you really want one.

1) Lighten up. No one should care as much as you seem to about tenths of a pound off your snowboard.2) You contradict yourself. You say this is not the lightest snowboard available, then you say the champ is the Nidecker Ultralight, which is this board.3) If you want to gripe, put it in a review. Not a question.----------------------------------------------------------The question was a reply to my answer I provided to a question on the Vapor. BackCountry.com lists this at 5.5 pounds, but Nidecker lists it as 5.1 pounds. Either way, it is still lighter than the Vapor, or the Inverse.-BW
