Featherlight, flexible, and featuring a zero drop design, the New Balance Women's WR00 Minimus Running Shoes frees your foot to do what it does naturally. This shoe cuts out all the added junk you'll find in a more traditional running shoe. Instead of a thick, elevated heel and midsole, the WR00 keeps the heel low and the heel and forefoot heights level. Hefty cushioning is replaced by thin, lightweight foam and a flexible outsole. Soft, breathable mesh takes the place of the thick, stifling upper of yesteryear, and the liner is designed not those who prefer socks, but for runners who prefer to go barefoot inside their shoe--what a concept.

Barefoot-style running with a minimalist shoe like the WR00 has a few advantages, one of which is the strengthening of the muscles in your foot and ankle and another is the ability to transition more easily between foot strike styles. Without the thick cushioning and extensive support structure found in a more traditional running shoe, your body is forced to strengthen the muscles in your foot as it flexes with newly found freedom. And as your foot grows stronger and your technique improves, the WR00's zero-drop design allows you to choose the foot strike style that works best for you, from heel to midfoot to forefoot. Suddenly you're given the tools to reconnect with the terrain, practice your running form, and free your foot--all thanks to this minimalist, performance trainer.

Light weight and comfortable

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I'm used to running in vibram fivefingers, but decided to give these a try. If you are already used to minimalist running then these shoes are great! They are zero drop and have a very thin sole, but are sturdy enough to run on a gravel surface. The toe box is wide, allowing for spread while running.

Pretty good minimalist shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 9.5

This is my second pair of Minimus and my fourth pair of minimalist running shoes. My last pair was the WT10V2 which I liked a little more than these. These feel more like traditional running shoes - they are a little more snug in the arch. I preferred the more minimal feel of the older shoes. These also rubbed the back of my heel and gave me blisters at first, but are fine now. Still, a decent alternative to my 5-Fingers when I want a little more between me and the running surface. They also seem to run a tad longer than my old shoes.

Love em'

I'm the wife and my name is Kristin:

This are great shoes. The color is a light teal and the sole is really durable for how thin they are. I used to own a pair of Nike's that were minimus and the fabric stretched a TON. These don't stretch which is bomb :).

My only concern is that I'm nervous that eventually, because of the fabric, my big toe will rip through the top. It hasn't happened yet though so I'm in the clear.

Like Running On Air

I love these. They fit true to size as I am a 9M in New Balance shoes and they fit perfect. They felt different at first because they are so light and airy, but running at CrossFit seems more effortless now with the light weight shoe.
